This time I couldn't even think about Him I was to worried about Everleigh. I kept asking myself, as I drove around town, where could she be? Is she okay, is she safe? What if something bad happened to her, how would our parents take it? I couldn't stop thinking about all the possibilities of what could have happened to her. It consumed my mind leaving no space to think about anything or anyone else.
After some time had passed I became tired and could barely keep my eyes open. I decided to turn back and head home. When I opened the front door I saw the hopeful look on my mother's face but I shook my head and she began to cry again. I shut the door and walked down the hall where my room used to be, now it's used as a guest room. I decide to stay the night in case she comes back while they're asleep and if not I'll do some more scouting in the morning.
Unfortunately Everleigh did not return during the night meaning more scouting for me. My parents said they would go down to the police station to file a missing persons report. Once they were gone I decided to fulfill my promise and call him to tell him what's going on. I told him everything because I can never hide anything from him, I explained why I left so quickly due to my sister's disappearance and I was right, he understood perfectly. He wants to see me, tonight. After searching high and low for Everleigh I went back to my apartment to take a shower and change before I go meet him.
He chose the meeting place, it was our spot. Somewhere in the woods where people never dared to go, where we were cut off from the world. When I arrived he was already there, waiting for me and for some unknown reason I felt a little nervous. As I walked towards him, I took all of him in, the way he stood leaning against a tree with his arms folded. How his hair danced in the gentle wind as he looked off into the distance.
He knew I was there before I even let any words slip from my mouth. He turned to face me with those endlessly dark brown eyes that shone in the darkness as if the stars were nestled into them and he just stared at me like it was the first time we saw each other and I couldn't help but stare back.
Slowly we started walking towards each other almost unconsciously without breaking eye contact, not even once. We stopped within a few feet of each other.I was the first to break the silence with a simple "Hi"
"Hey, how are you?"
"I'm okay...for now" I said with a sigh.
"Come here and give me a hug, you know I can't ever stay mad at you"
You could say I practically flew into his arms and I wasn't gonna let go anytime soon. I missed this, being held by him. In his arms is where I belong, it's the place where I feel safe, it's like home. I raised my head slightly off of his shoulder and whispered into his ear "I missed you". He whispered back "I missed you more".After our infinity hug, we sat down on a rock near the lake. He asked me questions like "How are your parents doing with all of this?", " How are you taking this?". I replied with a simple "Fine" or "Okay". He some how knew I didn't wanna talk about it so he stopped asking questions and just held me in his arms and we stayed like that until the sun sank behind the mountains.
