2:45 a.m

The familiar feeling of cold sweat awakens you. Your chest is heavily moving up and down as your lungs desperately try to fill themselves with air. You're sitting up as your eyes try to focus in on your surroundings.

It was another nightmare.

As soon as you woke up the nightmare was forgotten. Maybe it was for the best but it seems strange that you can't remember what it was since it affected you so much. As you sit in your bed trying to calm down you also try to remember anything about the nightmare that just awoke you.

It's useless.

Instead you look around adjusting to the darkness. The neon purple lights from the building across shine through and perfectly hit Bigby as he stays snoring in his seat. His neck is shifted in an uncomfortable position and you can finally see why he always rubs his neck when he wakes up. He always brushes you off with an, "oh it's nothing," when you ask if he slept bad and if he'd prefer the bed.

You rub your eyes and stare at the man in front of you. His hair has become slightly messy from the slight tossing and turning he's done in his seat, his lips were slightly parted open as he let out small snores, and his arms were positioned on the arm rests. He's very muscular, toned, and hairy. You giggle softly to yourself as the thought comes to mind. Sometime during the night he must've taken his shirt off you notice as you keep your gaze on him.

Slowly you begin to sit up from your position on the bed and quietly exit out the room. You close the door behind you making sure that Bigby doesn't awake from the noise you'll be making. You make your way down to the kitchen and quietly begin to gather up a mug and some tea bags. You begin to prepare tea do calm your nerves.

As you sip your tea your mind begins to space out trying to go back to that nightmare. You absentmindedly drink your tea as you space out on an object. Your mind is wandering and as much as you try to fight it it keeps going back to that state of mind.

"Hey"

You jump to the sound of a rough, deep voice calling out from behind you. Some of the tea you've been drinking spilled onto the floor.

"Oh no!" You cry out as you quickly get a paper towel and wipe down the floor, "I'm sorry you just startled me"

Bigby lightly chuckles as he sees your slight panic.

"I'm not worried about the floor I'm worried about you not being in bed." He responds with a deep husky voice

You stand up from your position and look down on the floor.

"Another nightmare?" He asks.

You slowly nod your head and look up at him.

He's leaning against the kitchen counter across from you with his arms crossed against his chest.

"Come here," he says before standing up straight and pulling you towards him.

Your eyes slightly widen as you feel his warm embrace. This is the closest you've been to Bigby and this is the most he's shown affection. You blink your eyes a few times as you adjust yourself and wrap your arms around his torso. Getting used to the moment you smile softly and nuzzle your face against his bare chest. You feel his chest move as he lets out another chuckle.

"Let's get you to bed," he states as he leads you back to the bedroom with one arm resting on your lower back.

You smile softly as you look up at him to see that he's doing the same.

He leads you to the room and you lay back down on the bed, pulling up the covers to your chest. Bigby sits by your side looking down at you.

"What was it about?" He questions.

You move around from your spot and look up at him as you try to once again remember the nightmare.

"I don't remember." You reply shaking your head.

Bigby gives you a concerned look but quickly replaces it with a smile.

"It's probably nothing then," he reassures you.

"Yeah..." you trail off thinking that what if it was something important. Maybe your way of recovering your memories could be through you dreams. But how can you remember anything if you also forget your dreams.

"Don't stress too much. Just get some rest alright," Bigby gently pats your head and offers you a warm smile.

"Wait," you call out as you see him begin to stand up, "can you stay with me? I'm gonna have a hard time going back to sleep since the nightmares are back."

Bigby looks at you with expressionless face and you begin to worry that maybe you were too direct with him. The thoughts quickly fade away as he pulls up the sheets and makes his way onto the bed. As soon as his head hit the pillow he lets out a small groan. He's forgotten just how comfortable his own bed is.

You watch in surprise as he closes his eyes and quickly drifts off to a deep slumber.

As you see him facing you with his eyes closed you begin to take in more of his features. His scruffy stubble that he shaves everyday but quickly grows back the next day, his crows feet and eye bags, all his expression wrinkles on his forehead and around his mouth, his thin lips and bushy eyebrows. All these things make him look so big and bad. You softly giggle to yourself

'The big bad Wolf'

Your facial fractures turned back to a serious manner. It sounded so familiar yet you have no recollection of it. You bite your lip as your begin to think deeply about that sentence. It was just a little nickname you've just given Bigby but then why did it sound so familiar?

Your eyes furrowed as you looked down on the bed sheets. An image from the nightmare suddenly appears.

You're wandering through a forest. Everything seems so peaceful and calm. Until you were interrupted by a wolf...

Just as the last images vividly appeared before you, you're head began to feel light headed and your eyes shut close.
