Dean's Comfort

We pull up to the cabin, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk to him.  Dean said I need to explain what happened to Mary, and me in general.

We walk in the door, first him, then me, and I see Sam reading a lore book just casually, like he didn't just wreck my heart.  He hears the door open and walks in.  "So, we need to talk," he says awkwardly.

"Yeah, I kinda got that when I saw you with another woman."

"Ok look, when you guys went to Purgatory, Crowley took Kevin and I was all alone. For a while, I just did some small hunts until one day, I hit a dog while driving. I took it to the vet, and that's how I met Amelia. We had both lost people, and we healed together. I actually moved in with her, and got a job working maintenance at the motel we were just at, because it's not far from where we lived. I just met up with her to talk back there and that just kinda...happened," he explains.

"So you moved on?" I ask. He slowly nods his head.

"Alright, my turn. We all went to Purgatory, and I thought of you every night, because that's all that kept me going for seven months. Then, one night, I had our daughter, Mary. Crowley came to see her, but then kidnapped us both, and took us to Hell, where I was tortured by a Sam look-a-like everyday. I have no idea how I got out," I admit. By this point, tears are streaming down my face.

"What happened to Mary? Where is she?"

"No idea. I haven't seen her since we were taken. You didn't even ask about her until now! You wanna know where our daughter is? I don't know!" I shout through tears. I run into a bedroom and shut and lock the door behind me. I fling myself into a bed and just cry about everything that's happened.

I miss my baby girl so much. And now Sam is gone from my life, but not physically, which almost makes it worse.  I hear a knock on the door.  "Go away!" I shout.

"It's me, Dean," Dean replies.

I guess that's fine.  I get up, unlock the door, and let him in.  I flop back on the bed, and he sits next to me.  "Look, I know Sammy's being a jerk right now, but he will fall back in love with you.  You two were head over heels in love with each other, it's not something you can lose that easy.  Sure you were gone for a year, 5 months of that in Hell, but his feelings will resurface."

"Dean, it didn't feel like 5 months.  It felt like 50 years.  You should know that better than anyone," I say.

"I do know what you mean.  But here, maybe this will cheer you up a little.  I got it out of Sam's wallet."  He shows me a picture of Amelia.

I take it, draw a mustache and glasses on her first.  "I don't even know why he likes Rabbit Teeth in the first place," I say, referring to her larger front teeth.  I also draw an L on her forehead, poke out her eyes, stab the picture with my pocketknife, then set it on fire with Dean's lighter.

"Well that was a little violent," Dean says.  "I love it!"

I laugh a little through my tears and Dean puts his arm around my shoulder.  "Do you wanna go for a hike?  I know that always cheers you up," Dean suggests.

"I would, but I'm still a little beat up and sore from 50 years of torture, so I think I'm gonna have to pass," I say.

"Yeah, well, if you wanna hang out sometime, just let me know.  I'm always here for you," he says, giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek before he leaves.

I decide to read a book to pass the time.  I see my favorite book, Catching Fire, is on the nightstand, so I grab it and begin reading.  It reminds me a little of my life.  Katniss and Peeta are fake engaged, she's fake pregnant, and then they sent to fake woods where people have to battle to death.  Only I was actually pregnant and engaged, and the woods were Purgatory, which was a very real death battle.

I want my baby girl back.  I NEED her back.  And I know just how I'm going to do it.
