Chapter 9: Again?!

Chapter 9: Again?!

It had been nearly a month since Dumbledore’s visit and every day, they all seemed to get a bit stronger.

And today, they were all headed to an Order meeting.

“Bye Rhiannon!” Ivy called up the stairs. “Bye Dan. Be a good boy. You too Nicole.” Ivy said.

Daniel nodded and Nicole gurgled in her cot.

“Thank you so much for looking after them Poppy.” Ivy said to Madam Pomfrey who was sitting at the kitchen table.

“You’re welcome dearie. Anything I can do to help?” She asked.

Ivy shook her head. “Everything’s fine I think. Once again, thank you. We won’t be long.” Ivy said.

Madam Pomfrey nodded. “Don’t worry dear, we’ll be here.”

Ivy smiled and hurried up the stairs. “Remus we have to leave now!” She shouted.

Remus appeared in front of her. “Sorry.” He said.

Ivy nodded as Remus took her hand, pulling her down the stairs.

At the foot of the stairs, she caught sight of her appearance in the mirror and winced. She didn’t look too good.

But gone were the days when looks mattered. Gone were the days when a lot of things mattered. Love, friendship, loyalty, it all seemed to be on the line at the moment. Everyone seemed to forget about it.

Ivy herself had also realized she’d been forgetting these things lately.

She never forgot where her loyalties lay, or her love or friendships

either but sometimes, she could feel them slipping away, as though someone was trying to suck the happiness out of her life.

She found herself constantly snapping at Remus. And shouting over the slightest things. It wasn’t purposely, but it happened.

She also found that lately, she had been neglecting her friends. She hadn’t seen Frank and Alice since Christmas. She’d seen Sirius in January and she hadn’t seen Peter in years.

She’s also recently found out some devastating news. The news should have been happy. She should have been overjoyed upon finding out, but she wasn’t. She was already worried. This brought even more worry to her.

“Remus?” Ivy asked as they made their way to the castle.

“Yes?” Remus asked.

“Can I tell you something?” She asked.

Remus stopped. “What’s wrong?” He asked.

“Well . . .” Ivy started.

Remus nodded for her to continue but she couldn’t. She fell to her knees and started crying.

Remus knelt beside her and hugged her tightly. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m pregnant.” Ivy whispered.

Remus gasped.

“With twins.” Ivy added.

Remus stood up, pulling her up with him. He hugged her close.

“It’s ok. We’ll be alright.” Remus said.

Ivy nodded. “I hope so.”

Remus smiled.

It was the first time he had smiled in a long time.

Ivy smiled back. Remus placed an arm about her shoulders and the two walked to the castle.

Yay!

I decided on twins, because originally, Nicole was supposed to be one of a set of twins, but I decided against because of the prophecy. So now I decided to do twins!
