Chapter 1: Happy New Year!
It was December 31st 1979 and Ivy Lupin was in the kitchen, cooking.
Since everyone had been to her sister Lily’s house for Christmas it was her turn to host for New Year.
It wouldn’t be a very large gathering. About eight people all together.
There would be Ivy, her husband Remus, her sister and brother-in-law Lily and James Potter, her best friends, Alice and Frank Longbottom and Sirius Black, her adopted daughter Rhiannon and her one year old son Daniel.
As the new school year commenced, Ivy would resume her post as teacher of Defence against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Her adopted daughter Rhiannon was in her first year at Hogwarts along with her best friend Gwenog.
Ivy was looking forward to the year ahead. Not only would she be becoming an auntie twice but she would also be having her second child.
This excited her as she had always hoped her son Daniel would have a brother or sister.

“Rhiannon. Is the living room tidy?” Ivy called from the kitchen.
She was busy putting the finishing touches on dinner and she had set Rhiannon the task of cleaning the living room.
“Yes mum. It’s tidy!” She called.
At that moment, there was a knock on the door.
Rhiannon rushed to open it.
Ivy stood in the kitchen waiting for Rhiannon to shout out someone’s name.
Aunt Lily!” Rhiannon shouted, hugging Lily tightly.
“Hello Rhiannon.” Lily said, hugging her back.
“Uncle James!” Rhiannon shouted, twice as loud.
“Rhiannon!” James shouted back.
Ivy emerged slowly from the kitchen.
“How are you?” She asked, hugging her sister.
“Very well. And you?” Lily asked.
“Good thanks.” Ivy replied, hugging James.
Remus then walked down the stairs, holding Daniel.
“Hello Daniel.” James said, taking Daniel carefully from Remus. “How is my favourite nephew?”
Lily laughed. “James. He’s your only nephew.”
James shrugged. “Wold you rather me say Ivy’s son was my favourite nephew or Petunia’s son?”
Lily nodded. “Point taken.”
Ivy laughed and Remus hugged Lily.
“How are you Lily?” Remus asked.
Lily shrugged. Ok.”
