Chapter 9: dream world becomes real world

All around me was exactly like from the dream. A giant treehouse, the butterfly's and birds, the creek and tireswings. Everything.

"I-I thought this place was only from my dream..."

"It's very real. You don't remember it from when we were kids?"

"I thought it was just a dream.. I don't remember much from my childhood."

"The dream must have been a memory. I found this place when I was 8, and you were 7. "

I grab the tireswing from near my side and grin "wanna go for a ride, jake?" He chuckles and we climb in it, swinging over. I go sit on a tire swing and he sits on one beside mine

"So you remember what I asked you?"

A huge smile crosses his face and he nods. "Do you think we can live here jake? Just the two of us?..If that's what you want, then it shall be"

I smile widely, almost idiotically.

My stomach was doing flips. It's been doing that since.. Since he did the.. thing so I could talk to him while he's in wolf form. Since the kiss. I felt safe with him. Safer than before. Was it because of us being here, together, no one else to bother us, or because he had kissed me about and hour ago and isn't acting any different

"Earth to Katie!" His voice snaps me back to real life. He was standing a few feet away looking at something on the side of the treehouse wall. I stand up and walk over. There was a large heart carved into the wood and in it said 'k+j'

I smile and feel jakes warm hand slide around my waist. He pulls me closer to him and u rest my head on his shoulder.

This was peaceful. No worries. No stepdad to yell at me. Just birds singing and the faint sound of jakes heartbeat

I feel something warm on the top of my head and when I look up jake was looking down at me, smiling. He must have kissed my head

I smile back and whisper, "thank you for not forgetting me like I forgot you.."

"I couldn't ever forget you." He mumbles something lowly that sounded like "I know why you don't remember your childhood.. I wish I could tell you.."

"What?"

His eyes widen a little and he blushes slightly "nothing!"

I stick out my bottom lip and do my impossible to resist puppy dog eyes on him

"Pweeze tell me."

"I-I-I can't. Not right now. Maybe later like in a few days"

I groan and sigh "fine."

He chuckles a little and pulls me into a hug, my cheek against his warm and comforting chest

I don't remember how long it took but I fall asleep while he holds me in his arms
