A Disturbance

Each element house has a designated ruler.  All twelve elemental beings saw each other as equals, but the rulers tended to be the most powerful of their element.  Most of them were friendly with each other except Fire and Water tended to have rivalry occasionally.  Air was both welcomed and resented by the other three elements.  Air ruled the heavens and oversaw most things.  Earth controlled all land, but could get interrupted by Fire.  Fire ruled over every heat source and supplied most materials.  Water ruled over every ocean, lake, river, or even puddle.  Each element had their own importance.

Sounds of the forest could be heard throughout the castle.  It was like a giant treehouse.  The limbs curled go form a majestic fortress and the grassy floor made for wonderful carpeting.  Veins hung down from the ceiling where lightning bugs would flutter about shining their light down for their queen.  Taurus was queen of the Earthen element.  It was a warm sunny day and the air was fresh in the Earth Sector.  Perfect.  Taurus sat at her throne of tree limbs as her righthand maid, Virgo, fed her grapes, but not just any grapes, seedless grapes, Taurus's favorite type.

"Oh Virgo what would I do without you?" Taurus sighed as she continued to squish the juicy grapes in between her teeth.

"I don't know, feed yourself?" Virgo laughed, placing another grape into Taurus's mouth.  "This work is kind of degrading ya know." Virgo cocked an eyebrow and looked at Taurus.

"Oh go hunt your little heart out," she said with a wave of the hand.  Virgo smiled and handed her the bowl of grapes before practically running out of the castle.  Virgo's bow was already slung over her shoulder along with the arrows. That girl loved her alone shooting time. Taurus shook her head and got up to find some more fulfilling food.  Like bacon.  She could smell the pig meat waft through the kitchen.  Taurus inhaled and went in the direction of the smell.  All of a sudden there was a burst of air.  Aquarius, Taurus thought.

"Aquarius what are you doing here?" asked Taurus, fixing her hair that Aquarius blew out of proportion with her windy arrival.  She and Aquarius were pretty close for being of separate elements, but they didn't normally drop by without notice.  The elements normally only gathered for annual balls, parties, or to meet for serious business matters.

"I was bored and decided to drop by," Aquarius admitted, flipping her hair. Taurus shook her head with a laugh. Doesn't she have her own kingdom to rule right now? Aquarius was the queen of the Air Sector. She never liked staying put though, something Gemini and Libra had to deal with constantly. Typical Aquarius.  "Oh! Also, I feel a disturbance."

"Wait what?" asked Taurus suddenly becoming as stiff as a stick. I thought she said she was bored! Even though Aquarius confused the others, she was really insightful and it was a wise to listen to her observations or concerns.

"There's this odd presence I haven't felt in a long time..." Aqua said. Time slowed for a moment as visions flashed before her. Her eyes were softly shut. There was a sense of power and calm around her, yet there was also some sort of unnerving factor. Taurus watched as she glowed and her midnight blue hair rose in the air. Bewilderment washed over Taurus; she hadn't seen this happen to Aquarius in a very long time. Suddenly Aquarius's eyes flashed open with a blinding white light. She looked like a banshee and an angel hybrid. It was both beautiful and terrifying.  "Go to Pisces. Now." Even her voice was booming.

Taurus was taken aback by this abrupt command. "Excuse me? What is going on?"

"Go! There's something amiss; I don't know what, but I have to warn Leo. Go to Pisces!" Aquarius exclaimed before vanishing into thin air.

"This is ridiculous..." muttered Taurus as she ran towards the staircase that led to the Water Sector. She quickly descended down the long ongoing floral staircase that eventually would lead out to a gorgeous beach. She held her gown up with her hands as she raced down the soft earthy steps. Even though this was nuts, she knew to trust Aquarius's instincts. She did oversee the heavens after all. Taurus could feel the sand in her brown sandals, she was almost there.  The smell of sea air entered her nostrils.  She closed her eyes.  Then her foot hit something and she fell forward with a shriek.  "What the..?"
