"Oh, Kyungmin-ssi! Good morning. Mr. Kim says you can drop by his office for your matters anytime this morning," a workmate of mine said the moment I enter our department. When she saw me, as in close up, face to face, she looked surprised for a moment.
Just like how Somi reacted when I opened the door for her this morning. Blame it on Taehyung's offer that I missed a good night sleep.
Nevertheless, I smiled at my workmate with a small nod and headed for my cubicle.
But come on, early in the morning and that's immediately what I hear, huh? Was this a sign telling me I should really push through with Taehyung's offer?
"So, are you two finally getting married now?"
"WHAT?" I reacted a little too loudly, and everyone's attention were on me.
When I realized that Nari—who basically just appeared beside me out of nowhere—was just being her usual self, I exhaled deeply, shaking my head.
"Sorry," I apologetically glanced at my workmates and they gave me a small smile before going back to their businesses. Thankfully, I had been blessed with kind and considerate workmates.
Nari chuckled, amused at my outburst. But before she could speak again, someone called her out.
"Nari, stop pestering Kyungmin and finish your work here! Why do you even have manga on your table..." Minji murmured the last sentence to herself.
I teased Nari for getting scolded by Minji by making a face and took the opportunity to excuse myself.
When I had gotten to my post, I booted up my computer, ready to work. I didn't want to barge in Taehyung's office first thing in the morning. At least let a few hours pass by first. Why did I even have a morning shift today?
But then, within the next ten minutes, it dawned on me that I couldn't concentrate. I had been going over the same account, being so unproductive.
With a defeated sigh, I pushed my head back.
Fine, okay. Gathering my thoughts, I headed for Taehyung's office. His assistant told me I could come in, and that was what I did.
What would it mean anyway if I went to meet him right now?
Well, to Taehyung it meant something.
"So eager to see me huh?"
That, and a silly grin on his face had greeted me immediately as Taehyung had seen me enter his office.
I rolled my eyes and closed the door behind me, ignoring his remark.
But it was funny. Last time I'd been here, the old boss had some sort of complaints over a printing error and kept pointing out that it was going to ruin his reputation. Now, here I was, throwing shade over the new boss. Well, not that I didn't before. Just that maybe I had to keep it subtle last time.
It was crystal clear why everyone loved this new boss in the form of Mr. Kim Taehyung.
"What happened to you?" he questioned, and I couldn't tell if he were mocking me because his voice held no undertones, but his face said otherwise.
Oh come on, not him too.
"I finished... well, work." Half lie, half truth. I mean, I busied myself with work when I couldn't sleep anymore.
