But oh, my heart was flawed
I knew my weakness
So hold my hand
Consign me not to darkness
~ Broken Crown - Mumford and SonsThe alarm rang shrilly beside her, waking Leah up. She sat up blearily and reached over to shut it off. The bedroom door in front of her opened and Clark walked in, wearing only an apron over his bare chest. Leah gaped at him.
"You're awake," he grinned. "Come on, I cooked breakfast."
"Breakfast? Anong breakfast?" She asked.
He grabbed her hand and pulled her out of bed, then led her out to the kitchen. Clark pulled out a chair for her and she took a seat at the table.
Leah looked around curiously while he walked over to the counter and then he came back holding a platter full of food.
"Bacon, eggs...and me."
She looked up at Clark's smiling face.
"Do you want to start with dessert?" His tone coupled with his lascivious grin left no doubt in Leah's mind what kind of dessert he was referring to.
"Yes, Clark. Yes..."
"Leah? Leah!"
She jerked awake and sat up. Clark was standing in front of her, fully clothed, in an unfamiliar room.
She blinked up at him blearily, the dream and reality blurring together in her mind.
"What were you dreaming about?" He asked. "You were saying 'Yes, Clark.'"
Leah blushed and couldn't look him in the eye. "Uh, di ko maalala." She buried her face in her hands. "Ang sakit ng ulo ko..."
"That's because you were really drunk last night. Here, I made you breakfast."
Leah's pulse started to race faster, her dream still crystal clear in her mind. She looked up at Clark between her fingers.
He set down a tray in front of her and, mercifully, there was no eggs or bacon on it. Instead there was oatmeal and dry toast, along with a tall glass of water and a bottle of aspirin.
"That will help with your hangover," he said.
Leah finally withdrew her hands from her face and looked around. She was in what must be Clark's bedroom, on his bed, and she had no idea how she got here.
"B-bakit ako nandito?" She asked.
Clark frowned. "You don't remember anything?" He looked at her and then looked away abruptly. "Uh, Leah..."
He gestured to his shoulder and chest area and Leah looked down to see that the strap of her dress had fallen down her shoulder and was revealing quite a bit of cleavage. She quickly fixed her dress and held the sheet up to her chest self-consciously.
Clark pulled a button down shirt from his closet and handed it to her. "Here, wear this."
Leah pulled it on and buttoned it up to her neck, still blushing.
"You were really drunk last night," Clark said. "Do you really not remember anything at all?"
Leah thought hard. The night before was a blur and her massive headache wasn't helping. She remembers going out with Arnel and Stacy. They drank beer and danced and it was fun. For a few hours Leah could clear her mind and forget about her problems. It was after the tequila shots that her memory started to get hazy. She could vaguely remember Clark showing up and...oh God, did she dance with him? A blurry flashback of her dancing up against Clark's body filled her mind.
