A week later...
I am going to murder Alessia. She forced me to wear this outfit and I feel like a balloon. Wearing a layered, lace dress to a brunch didn't really appeal to me. The cream color on the dress was pretty and the the height, which was just reaching mid-thigh, was acceptable.
At least it wasn't pink. I'd gotten over that color once I graduated. Still, this dress is definitely not what I wanted to wear to the 'engagement brunch' organised for Bellanora and Adrian. I mean, they had already gotten married so what's the point of having an engagement party now. Alessia, my best friend since high school, said there might be some guys I could score at the party, but right now I wasn't in the mood. I'd probably end up bringing someone home anyway, or find myself at a bar or something.
Hastily coating my lips with a nude shade, I grab my bag and head out the house. I don't live in an apartment, so leaving the house consisted of climbing down three staircases, passing through two hallways, leaving the house, and exiting the big brass gates. I now understand how, despite eating countless junk food items, I am still in shape.
I climb into my car and start the engine, heading towards Bellanora's parents' house. Needless to say, I was sort of rich. My dad owns a business, so I got some advantages from his money. For example I got Lizeth Junior. Yes, that's my golden lamborghini. I'm such a show off.

I ring the doorbell to the small house, listening to the loud noises coming from inside. A woman with amber colored hair opens the door, her brown eyes crinkling as she smiles. I give her a quick smile and look down at her deep purple dress, which made her look way younger. At the wedding, she looked old, but that was probably because she had been crying.
"Nice dress, Amanda," I said to Bellanora's mom. I'd become casual with her since she found me very pleasant at the wedding. She laughs and opens the door wider.
"Please come inside, Lizeth, dear. Everyone's out in the backyard," She says as I step in, nodding at her. I find my way towards the backyard and pull one of the two sliding glass doors. There's a hustle of people outside chatting, laughing, having fun. I look through the crowd and immediately know that Alessia would approve. The place was practically blooming with hot, attractive guys.
I spot Adrian and start heading towards him, but bump into a firm body. The person is hard and strong, but his cologne and warmth are familiar. I step back, still not looking at the person, mumbling an apology. Phone in hand, I'm about to turn when something clicks. The faint smell of the ocean and the muscular scent is all too well known to me.
I drop my phone and look up at the boy with the sharp jawline, striking blue eyes and dark hair. His smirk was evident, as he knew I remembered. I remembered everything. I punched his chest repeatedly, but in vain.
"How dare you! You left me here without explanation! No emails, no letters. Are you crazy?" I shriek, earning a few looks from the guests. Thankfully, the chatting and music drowns my voice so that only those who I want to hear what I say can hear me speak. I stop hitting him and wrap my arms around him, willing myself not to cry. I never cried. I made some people cry when I was in high school since I was the 'bad girl', but I never cried. The only time I cried was when Mum died, three years ago.
He hugs me back with a passion and I forget we are at Adrian's engagement.
"I'm sorry, Marshmallow," Tyler whispered into my ear. I pull away from him and frown.
"Seriously, Ty? Marshmallow? You used to call me that when we were ten," I said, a slight grin appearing on my face from the memory.
"Yeah..." He said, as if recalling something.
