"I honestly cannot thank you enough for doing this, Mum." Ginny took her mother into a tight embrace. She beamed at the warmth of it. There wasn't a lot better than a hug off of her mother. She felt warm. Fuzzy. Safe. But most importantly; secure.Ginny had taken Audrey's advice. She went, what Hermione called "non compos mentis". Essentially, she implies insane. Three days. Her and Harry. Harry and Her. The golden coast of Spain. It was an absolute dream. And she couldn't wait to live it.
James had never stayed away from his mother for more than a night before. But more importantly his mother hadn't spent more than a night away from him. To put it lightly, Ginny was terrified. There hadn't been a day that had passed since James' birth, that Ginny hadn't thought of her life before she discovered that she had her first baby in her stomach. That life seemed to be so far gone. She wanted to touch it desperately, but was petrified of what would happen if she was to go back to how she used to live. This life was constant in many ways. She truly loved that, and wouldn't change it for the world. But a girl has gotta have fun, right? Especially a Weasley.
The Potters planned it all out in a day. Harry hadn't taken much convincing at all. His work seemed to becoming more non-existent by the day. Less problems and less corruption, equalled less work, and he wasn't complaining. The plan was simple: James would stay with Molly for pretty much the entire time. Molly was busy, but her busy was able to be done with a child, with seven, to be precise.
As Ginny placed her head on her mothers right shoulder, she whispered into her ear. "You will be able to do this, won't you?"
Molly Weasley wasn't as young as she once was. Ginny didn't want to be ageist, or agree with any stereotypes, but it was her mother, and she couldn't help but worry for her. She wasn't getting any younger, and she didn't want to add to her pressure in any way. Of course, Ginny was looking for her mother to say 'yes', and reassure her, reassure her that this was a good idea. Her mother did not disappoint.
"Of course." Molly whispered back confidently, filling Ginny with a fake sense of relief. Her mother would say that even if it wasn't true, but Ginny tried not to think about that too much. "Your father and I are more than capable, Ginny, you're speaking to the woman who raised Fred and George."
When Ginny went over to say goodbye to James, who had been saying goodbye to Harry, she was met with utter indifference. Ginny took him into a hug, kissed him on the top of his hair and said what felt like an emotional goodbye, but it was all unrequited. All James was interested in was playing with the building blocks on the floor.
Ginny tried not to show that she was bothered by the indifference. So she and Harry left rather hurriedly, and apparated to the hill, where they had left to go to the Quidditch world cup all those years ago, which held the portkey that would take them to Llafranc, a coastal town in Spain.
"There it is!" Ginny pointed eagerly at a decaying metal hair comb, which lay several feet to their right. "Quickly!" The comb was glowing a bright red, noticeable against the darkness that was around them. With one look at Harry, Ginny ran forwards and grabbed onto the comb, holding on tightly, and awaiting the unpleasant experience that was travelling by portkey.
"Harry, it's amazing!" Ginny sighed with relief, as she looked up from her position on the freshly cut grass. She looked up to see a bungalow, that seemed so homely and warm, that she felt temptations to stay there for longer. She hoped the interior was as lovely as the exterior. "There are enchantments up, right?" Ginny wanted to be able to use magic whilst she was away, it was just easier, in every way.
"Part of the deal." Harry nodded. "It should all be quiet enough, there aren't many wizards in this area."
"Even better." Ginny walked over to him, and kissed him on the lips. "Alone time, it's what we need."
