it's been almost a week since you've left. feels like 10 years. i know I should probably wait a bit before contacting you but i cannot bear not to know how you are and if you are safe. i care about you a lot katherine, well I mean of course I do we've been best friends since we were 5.

i hope you've settled in well, all your unboxing done and spending quality time with you father, who i know you adore. it must feel pretty good to see him again, i know how much you've missed him.

apart from your happiness and safety, i have to admit i have another big worry that is eating me up inside. you promised me you would stay in contact, but there's nothing stopping you from being "too busy" and "not having time" to write to me. i don't want to use social media, you know how i am, and so i hope you continue this penpal thing (is that what you'd call it?) and write back soon.

i miss you but i hope you're having the best time.
