It was mid December when i started my first day of high school. It was nothing like i had expected. Although everyone obviously belonged to a certain group/clique they hadn't portrayed the typical stereotypes that high school students usually do. The "jocks" started conversations about stupid tv shows with the "nerds",the "populars" hung out with the "delinquents" during book club and everyone was a teacher's pet in their own little way. No one had a title. They didn't based themselves or others on how they looked and or acted. Honestly that didn't really surprised me, it's the Bronx after all. (Nothing but diversity here.) Now what surprised me was none other than this little weird Puerto Rican girl. Isleen Rosado. She stood about 5'1,ginger brown hair that was so wild you could get lost in it, her skin a sweet tone of almond that complimented her green eyes perfectly, and her body type thick and slim all at once. She was the definition of beautiful. I couldn't take my eyes off of her and that might have been the greatest mistake of the day. I never knew if it was whether she noticed my staring or the fact i was sitting in her seat, whatever the case i was fucked. I caught her eye and she was heading my way without a second thought. "Hi!" her voice came off as honeyed and soft and her once mean looking expression calmed into a friendly smile.

"Uh, Hi..Can i help you?" My tone came off bitter and her smile faded. She seemed now annoyed with me.

"You're in my seat."

"Oh sorry i didn't know, i'm new he-" she cut me off and her smiled returned.

"I know, don't worry about it kid." Kid? Who's she calling kid. Her height alone makes her look like she's still in fifth grade. I'm definitely older than her.

"Oh.. well thanks i guess." My tone gave off the impression i was annoyed and once again that smile she carried so seamlessly on her face vanished. She stood there in front of me not saying another word. She narrowed her eyes and glared at me viciously. I wanted to tell her to leave but i didn't dare. I didn't know her and it was my first day of school no need to make enemies. After what felt like hours someone from across the room came to my rescue. "Okay class take your seats so we can begin." Our teacher closed the door to the room, his voice stachy as if he was sick with the cold. Isleen finally broke her stare and made her way around the table to the chair just next to mine. Isleen hadn't spoken to me the rest of the class nor did she even bother to look my way.

Finally the period was over and lunch began. I was relieved to go my own way for a while, explore the school or something. Although Isleen had other plans for me. I was making my way down the crowded hallway when my bag was aggressively tugged at. I spun around quickly almost too quickly i made myself dizzy. I Looked down on Isleen and noticed once again her smile had returned. "Did i scare you?" she giggled.

"Nah just surprised me.. Did you want something?"

"Uhh" she blushed "yeah sort of.. I"m Isleen, but everyone calls me Issy." She extended her hand it was so small i was nervous i would break if i even poked at it. I shook it anyway.

"Matthew." She kept smiling and staring. I couldn't help but blush. God she was beautiful.

"Matthew, huh nice name. You dominican right?"

"Uh yeah, why you ask?"

"Tu habla Espanol?(You speak spanish)"

"Si(yes)" Her eyes lit up.

"Great." I was just about to ask her what was so great about it but before i knew what was happening she gripped my arm and suddenly i was being dragged through the hall by this girl who was about half my size.

She was fast and strong i didn't expect that. After 4 minutes of being dragged she let go, turned to me and smiled brightly. That should have been the first sign of her insanity to peek through and smack me in my face. I ignored that sign. "Can i trust you?" she tried to whisper but failed greatly.

"Umm that's really a matter of how well you know someone and how you thi-"

"Yes or no?" she playfully rolled her eyes.

"Sure i guess, you can trust me."

"Do you trust me?"

"We just met and i-"

"Yes or no Matty?" I took a deep breath, and look her in the eyes. Her eyes were so green and translucent they looked faked. I felt safe in her presence. I never knew why, she just always had that effect on me. Even then, the first day i met her i felt safe, i felt home.

"I trust you."

Isleen right off the bat was a mystery. No one could never tell what she was thinking. She would disappear at the most random times and when she comes back the day after she told these stories that had almost little to no detail. She kept quiet about everything she wouldn't even tell me and i was her best friend. So when quite girls go missing it's harder to realise. It had been a whole 3 days before any of us even her parents realized something had happened and she wasn't coming home.
