Chapter 6:

(Harrison's POV)

I woke up in a sudden rush, waking up Evan next to me.

"Dude what the hell?" He muttered turning over to face the direction away from me. I couldn't get out of the tent fast enough with the sun rising shining and taking my eyes by surprise. I closed the tent back up not before snatching my phone away. Something inside of me clicked when she said her number. It wasn't random and no way could I conjure up that type of number so I knew there had to be more to this dream that what I think it is. I perch on the edge of the rock as I dial the number in a rush. I didn't know what to expect, what if my dream was just a dream and there was no one on the other end? I'm hoping its the case.

"Hello?" I heard the voice filling my ear not only bringing me out of my thoughts, but it also making my heart beat stop. It was her voice, the Emily from my dream's, well at least it sounded like her.

"Hi." I spoke back not knowing what else to say.

"Harrison?" She stated, I could hear in that in her voice she didn't believe that it was me either.

"Emily?" I asked. Even through the call, I could feel the connection being spread. This was too weird for me to cope with.

"Oh my god." She breathed over the phone. I began pacing back and forth pressing the phone to my ear in disbelief.

"This can't be real." I commented.

"How can we be talking right now?" She questioned sounding genuinely scared in a way. I was scared a little, because dream linking or whatever this is isn't normal, I've never heard of it and I certainly don't know what this means. I've never heard of Emily before the dream and no way am I hallucinating this.

"I have no idea." I spoke baffled by how this was happening.

"Who are you talking to?" I heard a male, Irish voice call from the phone.

"Who was that?" I asked, a slight jealously somehow creeping up.

"Andrew i'll be right in, it's Lila" She spoke back to the guy.

"Okay now I know." I commented hoping she didn't actually hear me ask the question.

"Huh?" She muttered as if she was coming back to the conversation on the phone, meaning that she didn't know that I heard what was said on her end, meaning she that she didn't know what I said.

"It doesn't matter." I answered.

"How are you able to do this?"  She said in a demanding tone.

"Why do you presume it is me who is doing this?" I asked in the same tone back. Why is she blaming this on me, how am I meant to know whats going on?

"Harrison what are you doing?" Kari called from behind me making me jump a little. I turned to see her rubbing her eyes not completely awake as she zipped up her Gillette. Once she saw I

"Oh okay sorry." Kari continued once she saw I was on the phone, walking away from me as I decided to walk further from the tents so no one would think i'm crazy if they heard what I was actually saying. I took a little stroll as I continued with the conversation.

"Who was that?" Emily asked sounding like I did when I heard Andrew.

"It doesn't matter. What does matter is how our dreams are linked." I asserted trying to get back on track again after the second interruption. I wanted to know why we were linked and how we could make it stop. Don't get me wrong, she's sweet and the dreams are always interesting, but I feel like I haven't had any sleep since the dreams began.

"How do I even know this is Harrison? What if you are scamming me?" She challenged trying to put the blame on me.

"How would I know about the dream?" I suggested.

"I don't know." She huffed knowing I was right.

"Trust me this isn't a scam. This is real." I made clear sitting on a rock looking out to the sun.

"What if now we've spoken the dreams stop?" She claimed out of the blue.

"What do you mean?" I asked curios at to where she was going with this.

"Well what if our subconscious has now un-linked or something now we've spoken, maybe it's broken the link?" As she spoke, I could hear her thought process and how she was sounding hopeful from her idea.

"Maybe." I replied. I on the other hand would miss our little dreams, I wasn't ready to give them up so easily. I liked her, and maybe that was because of the dream but there was something about her, I couldn't work it out and the feeling that I had in those dreams and even now on the phone, it wasn't something I wanted to give up on so easily. I knew that she was torn with the same feelings as well, because of 'Andrew'.

"But in that case that'll mean I won't see you tonight." I said. 'And I want to see you tonight'. I thought to myself.

"I want to see you now." She chimed more like a whisper.

"I'll be asleep tonight, if this is real and it's actually happening, I'll see you tonight." I affirmed. I wanted her to know that this wasn't over, something in the back of my mind was telling me this dream linking thingy was far from over.

"Harrison ..." Her voice trailed off before I interrupted her.

"I'll see you tonight." I repeated.

"See you tonight." She added before I hung up. I walked back to the tents where Kari was still the only one up and ready.

"Who were you on the phone to?" Kari asked looking up from her diary. Every morning she would write about the day before, its something she promised her grandma or someone that she would write down her life so they could read it when they came back so they would feel as if they were apart of it. I can't remember the exact details about it but Kari kept to her word and made sure every detail was wrote down.

"A friend." I replied not in the mood to delve into the inner craziness of my mind right now.

"You have no other friends apart from us." She noted.

"Haha you are funny." I spoke sarcastically, sitting down across from her as she drank her water.

"That's why I am your friend." She said bringing us back into normal conversation.
