Taylor POV

It had been a few days since the doorstep incident. I had been angry for a solid few hours afterwards, mainly at myself. Also at Maya, she could clearly see how I felt about her, was she trying to test me? Fuck, I'd never been so confused in my life. Although I knew one thing, I missed her.

It was a Saturday afternoon, I had decided to show up at her house. The random burst of confidence had led me to her doorstep. 'Long time no see' I said to myself, whilst smiling at the doorstep. Realising how crazy I must've looked, stood there smiling at a doorstep, I knocked twice on the door. I was greeted by Frank. "Oh hello, Taylor isn't it?" He smiled, but it seemed forced and I immediately knew something was wrong.

"Yeah, um I was wondering if Maya was in?" I asked, he looked at me for a split second before sighing, "Im not sure she wants any visitors today." He began to fidget uncomfortably. Something was clearly going on here and I was beginning to worry.

"Well can you ask her if she minds seeing me?"I was becoming impatient.
"Sure one second. " He said before leaving me alone outside. A few seconds later he came back,
"Im sorry she said she doesn't want to see anyone today." Something was going on I could see it in his face. I was a full time bullshitter, which meant I could smell it a mile away.

"What's going on!" I was angry, very angry. Turns out I was angry enough to push past Frank and make my way upstairs, I had never actually been in her house before but didn't have time to take in the surroundings right now.

I looked to see which door would most likely be hers and luckily her Lana Del Ray posters and Tumblr themed quotes stuck to the front of the door gave it away. I barged in without knocking.

My heart broke at the sight of what I saw. Maya was lying on her bed, on top of the covers scrolling mindlessly through her phone. Her eyes squinted open from the cuts and bruises that surrounded her face.

I could see her face in all of its colours. Blue. Purple. Red. She looked shocked as soon as she saw me. Her gaze averted from my face and to the floor, clearly feeling ashamed. I was stuck for words but managed to get the necessary few out.

"Did he do this?" I asked, practically whispering. Her eyes joined back up with mine, they looked different this time. Defeated almost, I could see the circles under her eyes from where she had clearly not slept and she looked paler than normal even though her face was like a fucking rainbow.

"Yes." She answered, her voice cracked at the end, cracking my heart further.

I looked at her once more before turning on my heels and sprinting down the stairs and out of the door.

I couldn't control myself. I couldn't even breathe , alls I could see was red. The red of her bruises, the red of her cuts and the red of my fucking anger. I was like a bull to a red rag, and that rag had one name. Kaleb.

I was angry but I was not stupid. I knew I couldn't physically fight Kaleb by myself. As much as I wanted to. I dialled Cole's number and waited. After a few rings a sleepy voice answered.
"Tay you interrupted my nap dude."

"Cole get your ass out of bed we've got someone to kill!" I practically screamed down the phone.

"Pick me up in 10." Cole knew the drill, he knew when I was angry there was no going back and so he could either join me or let me face it alone. He had never let me face anything alone, and that was why he was my best friend.

I showed up at his door in 7 minutes. I honked the horn several times and waited for him to get into the car before racing off again.
"So are you gonna tell me what this is about?" He began, "Because I've seen you mad Tay but this is some different level shit, who fucked up?" He asked.
