Maya's POV
After Taylor had left I spent the rest of the evening trying to plan out what I was going to say to Kaleb. Taylor had specifically told me not to do it face to face, and to have her by my side when I decided to make the call.

I was scared, truth be told I was fucking terrified. But I knew I needed to finally break free from him, for myself and also for Taylor. I was not blind, I noticed the stares and the thoughtful glances she was constantly giving to me, and I even caught myself returning the gesture from time to time.
Whatever was happening with the two of us would have to wait until I had sorted out my previous problem.

Monday
I had decided I was still not ready to go into school yet, my face was only just starting to heal properly and I didn't want to face any intruding questions from friends and teachers.

My parents seemed to agree with me, although I hadn't told them how I got the markings on my face, they hadn't predicted Kaleb, he could do no wrong in their eyes, and I kind of despised them for not seeing the monster I so clearly saw.

I hadn't responded to his text messages or calls since he had shown up at my school that day. There had been many to ignore. Speaking of...

Kaleb: You can't stay mad at me forever.
Kaleb: Maya you know you're going to forgive me so just get on with it...
Kaleb: Stop being so childish and just forget about it!

Maya: Leave me alone Kaleb.

Kaleb: No I won't fucking leave you alone, nice of you to finally reply. Where are you?

Maya: I don't want to speak to you.

Kaleb: How long are you holding the grudge for this time? I mean you've already broken your 3 day record.

Maya: I'm not letting it go this time.

Kaleb: Ha you're fucking messing with me. Now where are you?

Maya: I'm serious, it's fucking over, stop calling, stop texting and stay the fuck out of my life.

I cursed myself for letting my short temper get the better of me. Knowing Taylor wouldn't be especially pleased, but also knowing she'd understand.

Kaleb:...you stupid bitch! You're going to fucking regret that.

I was scared, I was so fucking scared. I called Taylor as fast as my hands could manage to dial her number, the number I had already memorised.
It rang three times before she picked up.

"Hey you, what's up is everything okay?" As soon as I heard her gentle husky voice, I couldn't contain my emotions.

Tears emerged from my eyes and my shaky voice tried to string a few words into a sentence.
"I...he...it's over!" I was loudly sobbing at this point, trying to muffle the sounds with my hand.
"I'm coming." And with that she hung up the phone.

Taylor POV
I had sped to get to Maya's as soon as humanely possible, but there had been a lot of traffic on the way, causing my journey to be way too long for my liking. The day was dark and gloomy, rain heavily pouring onto my windscreen, the irony in the weather was humorous almost. I arrived at her front door not hesitant to knock, I slammed the door with my palm a few times.
Nothing.

I knocked again, panic had started to spread around my body and I was beginning to worry. I called her phone a few times, nothing.

I was stood in complete silence, the rain beginning to dampen my hair, until a loud crash echoed through the house walls. That was enough to cause my body to push through the door, entering the house abruptly.
