Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters in this story. Rick Riordan does.
This was originally my first story on Wattpad. If you have any suggestions for my story, please let me know. I hope you like the first chapter.
(For those of you who originally read this chapter in my other book titled "Percy Jackson's Betrayal: Shadow To My Light", I'm transferring all of the original chapters to this book. Basically, I'm going to make "Percy Jackson's Betrayal" and "Percy Jackson's Betrayal: Shadow To My Light" into separate, individual stories with different plots. Enjoy!)

Percy's POV
I can't believe they actually thought I killed her! I would never kill any of my friends, especially my cousin. Everyone knows my fatal flaw is loyalty and no matter how hard I try, I will never be able to betray them. I love all of my friends and family. But, the pain and guilt was killing me and I had to accept this punishment. However, what pains me the most is that no one defended me or tried to stop Zeus. I feel so alone and unloved with no more purpose to live. If you're wondering what happened, let me explain from the beginning:
~Flashback~
I was in the Poseidon Cabin at Camp Half-Blood getting ready for capture the flag. The hunters arrived today with Artemis to visit the campers and Chiron. It was going to be campers vs. hunters although, I had a pretty good idea of who was going to win. I strapped on my armor and grabbed Riptide as I headed towards the Athena Cabin.
"Took you long," Annabeth said as she saw me come in.
I smiled at her and took a seat as she started to explain her plan on how to beat the hunters. Her plan was actually brilliant and I had a feeling we would finally beat the hunters in capture the flag. When she finished, we all headed towards Zeus's Fist where we placed our flag and everyone got into their positions. The conch horn sounded, signaling the beginning of the game. I waited as my teammates lured most of the hunters away from my position and I sprinted towards the hunters' flag. I found the flag alone with no protectors, but I knew some hunters were hiding in the trees. When I was 5 feet from the flag, arrows started shooting in my direction. I dodged most of them but a few grazed my ribs and shoulders. All of a sudden, Thalia landed in front of me with her bow aimed at me.
"Did you really think it was going to be that easy?" she said mockingly.
"Not really. How could I not know my own cousin, Pinecone Face?" I asked.
"Well, if you know me so well, then you know what's coming next, right?" she said with a smirk.
My eyes went wide with horror when I realized what she meant and I quickly smacked her on the head with the hilt of my sword. Thalia collapsed immediately while more arrows rained down in my direction and I grabbed the flag before Thalia could get up. I sprinted towards Zeus's Fist and I strained my ears for any sounds that might give away Thalia's location. Knowing my cousin, she never likes to lose and would do anything to win. I had a feeling she was hiding around somewhere planning on how to get the flag from me. I kept on sprinting but, I didn't hear or see any sign of being pursued by Thalia. I found that strange because my cousin wouldn't let me win that easily. I didn't know why, but a sudden chill went up my spine. This might have been the dumbest thing I have ever done in capture the flag but, I stopped running and turned around, sprinting back in the direction where Thalia had fallen.
The next thing I saw was probably the most horrific thing I have ever seen in my life. Lying on the ground was Thalia, right where she had collapsed, but that wasn't the horrific part. Her face was pale and she was surrounded by a pool of blood. Her blood. I didn't know what to do. I had a queasy feeling in my stomach and I felt nauseous.
