"Bye guys! See you next week!" I said my goodbyes to my friends that volunteer at the library with me, and walked out. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and saw that I had three missed calls from Frank, and a text. When I read it I almost dropped my phone. He said that mom had kicked him out and was going to shoot either him or Gerard. He told me to pack my stuff when I got home and call him when I was ready, that we were moving in with Gerard and getting away from her. I was happy and scared at the same time. How was I going to get all my stuff out the door without her realizing what is going on? I decided it was worth a shot, and called Frank but no answer. I sighed and started the walk home. I only lived a few blocks away, so it just took ten minutes or so to get there. When I finally got to my house, I noticed that mom's car was gone. Not good. I ran inside and up to my room, I was going to get packed as fast as I could in hopes I could get done and be gone before she got back. Grabbing a suitcase and my backpack I shoved as much as I could into them, and when they were both full I called Frank. "Frank? I'm all packed, when are you going to be here?"

"We are leaving now, it will only take us about fifteen minutes. Please be careful around her." He sounded really concerned. "Actually she isn't here; I don't know where she is. Please hurry."

"okay, just try to stay out of sight if she gets there before we do, I love you" the call ended. I walked down to the front door and watched for Gerard's car out of the window. After a while, I started to get nervous, Frank said fifteen minutes, it had been thirty. I ran upstairs to my room to do one last look around, and make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. "Oh!" I saw my favourite figurine laying under my desk. It was the porcelain fairy my father had given me for my third birthday. I picked it up and walked back downstairs. As I bent down to put the figure in my bag, I heard a car pull up. I prayed that it wasn't mom, and was scared to look out the window. I glanced at my phone and just as I did I got a text from Frank, he said they were going to be another five minutes. I looked outside and saw mom's white car sitting in the driveway, but she wasn't the one driving. I didn't recognize the man in the drivers seat, but he looked just as angry as mom. I grabbed my bags and ran out the back door, closing it as gently as I could, and then called Frank. No answer. There was no way they could show up at the house without mom and the man noticing. I thought for a second, and put on my backpack. I would just have to get away from the house and down the street before they show up. I ran as fast as a person carrying a backpack and suitcase could run, behind our neighbors houses until I made it to the end of the street. I called Frank again, and luckily he answered. "Frank, don't go to the house mom showed up with some man and they are in the driveway, I'm at the end of the street in front of where Troy used to live."
"Okay, we are almost there, just hang tight" he sounded scared. I hung up and watched the road. How did things come to this? Just then a black car stopped, and Frank got out. He ran up and hugged me, then help me get my stuff into Gerard's car, and then we drove off.
