14: It's Worth It

CHAPTER 15

*Mia's POV*

"Guys, where are we going?" I asked for the thirtieth time in a row. I heard a couple groans.

"Be patient, love. It's worth it." Harry whispered in my ear. A girly giggle escaped my lips. His hot breath fanned my neck, making me feel as though I could sit there forever.

"WE'RE HEEEERE!" Louis sang.

"Finally." I muttered under my breath, reaching up to yank the bandana off of my head. A hand grabbed mine, stopping me before I could untie the knot.

"Not yet." Harry's slow voice commanded me. I felt his fingers intertwine with mine as he helped me out of the car. I felt a rush of heat through my whole body when he didn't let go after we escaped the cologne-y smell of the Camry. I took a deep breath of fresh air, deciding that we were somewhere outdoors.

"This way," Zayn called, his voice coming from in front of us. I wondered where the other 3 boys were, but my questions were answered when I heard Liam and Louis messing with eachother right behind me and Niall grabbed my free hand. I swung my arms as we walked, basking in the fact that Harry held my right hand and Niall had my left. I listened to Harry's throaty chuckle mix with my tinkling giggle and Niall's charming (and rather loud) cackle. After a while of peaceful walking, Zayn spoke up.

"Now youcan take it off." He said. I laughed and released my hands from the boys' to untie the bandana. When the piece of cloth fell from my eyes, I gasped. In front of me stood a small stage, decorated with flower petals and little potted plants. I looked around me, my eyes finding 5 boys looking at me eagerly for approval. We stood in a park, alone and surrounded by trees. The trees were strewn with beads and lights. A makeshift stage stood at the front of the clearing, with a little wooden bench placed in front of it.

"It's gorgeous," I grinned. I found my self being led to the bench.

"Sit here." Harry commanded. I stiffened my posture and raised my hand to my forehead.

"Sir, yes sir." I shouted. Harry rolled his eyes and jogged with the rest of the boys to the stage. They all paused at the stairs in a huddle. I cocked my head, confused.

Seconds later, they sauntered on to the stage as the first notes of Best Song Ever rang out over the green clearing.

"Maybe it's the way she walked..." I laughed and clapped as they progressed into the song. I let their harmonic voices surround me and life me up.

"Said her name was Mia Meyers-" Harry's voice rose above the others'. My head shot up- did he just sing..?

"And her daddy was her best friend," He continued. Liam and Louis looked at eachother, along with Niall and Zayn, all looking thoroughly confused. My eyes teared up at the mention of my dad, and in gratitude that Harry remembered me talking about my dad.

"She says I have the cutest laugh," Niall sang and sent me a wink; he had caught on to whatever Harry was doing.

"But she know I love her's more!" He finished. I laughed, covering my face and shaking my head to hide my fiery cheeks.

"I said can I take you home with me, she said let me get my coat baby," Louis shook his hips, raising his eyebrows at me. I laughed harder and rolled my eyes.

They finished off the song with the original lyrics. Several chest bumps and sweat-rags later, they jumped right into a couple other of their songs. I clapped once again after the sixth or seventh song, Midnight Memories.

"We got one more for yeh', right?" Niall spoke into his mic. I nodded, slightly dissappointed that my concert was already coming to an end.

A few sweet beats of music played over the speaker. Niall disappeared for a few seconds before reappearing with his guitar and sitting on a stool I hadn't noticed before. All 5 boys looked at me intently as Niall's guitar playing worked with the recorded music.

"Am I asleep am I awake or somewhere in between

I cant believe that you are here and lying next to me

Or did I dream that we were perfectly entwined

Like branches on a tree, or twigs caught on a vine," Liam's angelic voice began. His eyes closed and his eyebrows rose as he matched the tune.

"Like all those days and weeks and months I tried to steal a kiss

And all those sleepless nights and daydreams where I pictured this

Im just the underdog who finally got the girl

And I am not ashamed to tell it to the world!" Niall crooned, his eyes boring into me like nails into wood.

"Truly, madly, deeply I am

Foolishly, completely falling

And somehow you kicked all my walls in

Truly, madly, crazy, deeply in love with you

In love with you." Harry and Louis' voices harmonized perfectly, Louis holding a hand over his heart and Harry pointing right at me. A smile spread across my face.

As Liam continued into another solo, I let the music envelop me. I sighed in content and basked in the melody.

"Truly, madly, deeply I am

Foolishly, completely falling

And somehow you kicked all my walls in

With you-" they all chorused together before Harry sang the finishing phrase.

"With youuuu, oh." His green eyes held so much, so much that I wanted to know. I didn't want this to be my only day with him, or any of the boys. They were all I had expected and more.

Pushing those thoughts out of my mind, I gave them all a standing ovation. They took mock bows and rushed off stage to surround me a warm, sweaty hug. I screeched and giggled.

"That was gorgeous. Thank you." I smiled.

"It was nothing. Now come on, let's have a walk. I heard this park is empty around this time." Zayn said.

"Sounds good." I grinned. Niall and Harry took their spots my my sides again, their hands still sweaty. We took off down the path, their feet crunching and my heels making a strange clacky-crunchy sound on the gravel.
