I don't know how long I was down there for. Maybe a couple minutes, couple hours. Couple days, apparently.
I swam to the surface of the pond and trudged back to my cabin, not caring if anybody saw or not. I estimated it was probably 8:30 at night, and the campfire would have just ended. Everyone would be getting ready for bed in their cabins.
I quietly unlatched my cabin door and stepped inside. A few of my cuts were still bleeding, so I bandaged my left forearm. I changed out of my bloody camp t-shirt and put on a big sweatshirt that would cover my arms, and collapsed into a restless sleep.
