"Please Marine!" Felix pleaded.
"No." I said walking up the stairs in frustration.
"Please."
"No."
"Please!!"
"How many times do I got to say no!?" I asked frustrated.
"Until you say yes." Felix said. I spun around.
"Well Felix, my answer is going to be no." I told him.
"Well I am going to keep asking you." He said.
"Why are you asking me? There are lots of people in the world!" I said.
"I know, but you are the one that I want to show I can change." He said. He grabbed my hand, and for some reason I didn't move my hand.
I sighed and before I knew it I was saying, "Fine." I surprised myself with saying this. He smiled, and hugged me. I was shocked and didn't know what to do. So after a bit I hugged him, sort of kind of too. He pulled back holding my shoulders.
"Thank you so much Marine! You won't regret it!" He said. Then I was back to earth.
"I better not." I said, a faint smile on my lips.
"I am really excited. When will we start?" He asked. It was fifteen minutes after school, and we were only still in the building, because I was trying to walk away from Felix, so I wandered around the school to loose him. But he didn't take the hint. I had no idea why I said yes, but I couldn't go back now. I shrugged.
"Why not now? If you're free." I said. His eyes glowed.
"marine. I really like that you like to go right into things. Why wait, right?" He said. I nodded.
"But I have to do... stuff sometimes, so I will tell you when, but I have business that I have to do. Even though I don't like it." I said. I was talking about my visits to my dad. I hated those stupid, useless, hateful visits. But I have to go.
Felix nodded. "Okay! Same goes for me." He said.
"Okay. Come on." I said. He followed. We started to walk out to my car. Then, when we walked outside there were all of Felix's friends surrounded a nice model of a viper. They stared at us as we exited the school building. Then when we were nearly directly in front of all of them, a girl, by the name of Marley, stepped forward.
"What the heck are you going to do to Felix?" She questioned with a sour face. I turned to her with a sigh.
"Help him." I said. They all looked uncertain.
"Felix, what the heck is going on?" Another one of his friends, Jamie, asked. Felix grinned with his pearly teeth showing.
"Guys it's fine. Marine and I are cool now." He said, swinging his arm over my shoulders. I tensed up as he did so.
Then Marley asked, "Wait, are you two dating?" She asked us. At that I sprang away from Felix.
"No!" Felix and I yelled in unison. Mine was more of a shriek. His wasn't that loud of a yell though.
"She's just helping me be a better person." He said.
"Oh no. She's gotten to you! Don't believe her Felix. You are perfect." Marley said. He shook his head.
"Come on Marley. I mean really, nobody is perfect. Especially me." He said.
"Oh and Marine is?" She asked.
"No, but we can all help each other get better in this life." He said.
"But this time in high school is our time to have fun! Come on, remember? Y.O.L.O!" Kyle, another Felix friend said.
Felix shrugged. "I'll still be having fun. I mean, it's not like I'm not friends with you guys. I just really need the help in my life, and I think Marine is the person to help." He said.
"What does Marine have that we don't? Cruelty?" His friend Sophia asked. You have way more cruelty than I do by far honey. I thought. Felix, again shook his head.
"Unpopularity, a different perspective of the world, mysterious, a lot of things." He said. His friends were silent. "So if you could excuse us, we'll be going now." He said, turning forward to go to my car.
"What about your ride home from me?" Marley asked. Felix turned around walking backwards.
"Marine can give me a ride." He said. He turned around with me. I glance back at all of them.
"I will never forgive you Marine! You have ruined Felix's life." Marley yelled.
"Come on Felix. This is stupid. There's a party tonight. Just come with us, and we'll have fun." One of his friends yelled. They kept on yelling at us. Nice words to Felix, mostly, telling him that he should go with them. But at me they would yell profane words, and yelled insults. I didn't care. It's not the first time it's happened. I stepped inside my car, and Felix in the passenger seat.
We sat there for a bit, then I started my car and started to back out of my parking spot. After a little bit, Felix turned to me. "I am really sorry about them. They were really rude, and they weren't acting right." He said. I shrugged.
"It doesn't bother me so much anymore. Most of my life has been full of insults." I informed him, still paying attention to the road. He looked concerned.
"What about at home?" He asked. I was silent for a bit.
Then I said, "I have had a harder life than you think Felix. And you probably will never be told of what has happened in my life." I said.
"I know, but I would trust you better if you told me. I would be less hesitant about trusting you with helping me change." He said.
You would trust me a lot less if you knew. I thought. I wasn't sure I wanted him to know about my past.
