Silent but deadly (Light x OC)

Objective #3: Keep up your facade

"Oh, I live near here," I answer pointing to a tall house with white siding.

He looks curious but just drops his questions. He walks next to me and asks, "why don't I walk you home? You live close to me"

I just agree and continue looking at the ground. We walk in silence, but it isn't an awkward one. We reach my house and I just wave goodbye.

"Wait Ruby, call me if you get into the University," he says while giving me his number. I just take it and walk inside.

Sick of being shy I stomp upstairs and grab my phone. Glad I'm living alone, I call Ryuga and yell at him.

"What happened to you after school? I was going to talk to you about something but I couldn't find you so I decided to tail Light instead. Anyway I figured out that he really likes apples. Like he had 4 in his bag and he had a notebook that said 'Death Note' on the front," I say in one breath

"Hmm, very suspicious. Who would carry around a journal that has 'Death Note' written on the front? Did you by any chance, look inside it? Do you know what it is?"

"Obviously I didn't. And no. I barely even got my hands on it. When I was going to pick it up Light got to it before me, like he was hiding something"

"Hmm, very well. I'll speak to you again tomorrow"

I hang up after agreeing and think about what happened. I NEED to look in that book, it must have some answers. Getting lost in my own world I almost don't notice the strange being that appears in front of me. It looks at me strangely and I do the same thing, giving off a little scream.

"What and who are you," I ask with as much confidence as I could muster up. There was a monster in my room, it's hard to keep a straight face without screaming.

"You see me? Well that makes sense since you touched the notebook. I'm Ryuk and I'm a shinigami"

I narrow my eyes and think. The Death Note is connected to the shinigami, and shinigami's are know as gods of death. I remember the important information for later and get back to the conversation.

Ryuk snickers. "You aren't like what I seen before. You got a lot of nerve, and you aren't keeping your head down. But you got brains"

I glare at him, or it, and think of what to say. "Wait, does that mean you are somehow connected to the Death Note and since Light has it you are constantly following him around?"

"Sort of, but a close enough guess"

"Wait that means you could tell him who I really am. I need you to keep quiet about this, if not I'm in big trouble"

He seemed to think about it then looks back to me. "If you give me apples then I won't tell"

That must be why Light had all those apples in his bag. I walk down to my kitchen and grab a couple of apples off the counter.

"Now, you don't tell him who I really am and you can have all the apples you want"

He seems pleased by this and says one last thing before he disappears. "What word is it you use to describe these? Juicy? I don't know, but if you keep giving me these your secret is safe with me, or whatever it is you humans say"
