Silent but deadly (Light x OC)

Objective #4: Gain information

After meeting Ryuk, things are going to get harder being around Light. I don't think he knows I can see him and who knows if the shinigami will go against his word.

I was walking home from school with Light, this was months later when we figured out we both got into the school. We spoke often, but every time we did I never saw Ryuk around. I was trying not to make my knowledge of him obvious, if Light knew it would probably be game over for me.

"Hey Ruby, did you want to come over and study with me for a while?" He asks

"Sure," I say looking down at my feet. My hair covers my face.

I see Light with a smirk on his face. He thinks he's getting to me, as if. But I can't let him know who I really am. If I let my shy girl image slip, I'm done for.

I never realized I was risking my life in so many different ways just by being with the suspect. It would probably be easier for me to get information though if I go with him to his house.

I decide to go against what my conscience was saying and go with Light. We walk in and who I'm guessing is his mom and sister come welcome him. His mom has a nice gentle and caring smile on her face while his sister looks to take after Light with her intelligence.

"Hey Light can you help me with my homework?" His sister asks, completely oblivious to my presence.

"I would Sayu but me and Ruby are going to study for an upcoming test"

With this, she finally notices me and looks ecstatic. "Are you Lights new girlfriend? Because I think you could do way better, you're way out of his league"

I give a little giggle. She's funny but sweet. Light just ignores this and drags me up to his room. He closes the door and locks it. Why lock it? He offers me a seat by the desk, I sit and take out my notebook. I flip to a page and show Light a part where I had "trouble" on. I knew how to do it, just an act.

Light leans over me with one hand on the back of the chair and the other on the desk, looking at the book. I look down and pretend to be nervous while fiddling with the hem of the dress I was wearing. It was a knee length made of red fabric. He seems to notice this and tries to take advantage of it. Not on my watch Kira.

"Ruby, why don't we talk about some other things. I'd like to get to know you better," he peers into my face.

"Sure," I say while quickly making my way to sit on his bed. I think he's suspicious of me, then again how can you not be when you're a killer.

Before I can get the chance to talk I see a "floating" apple. I got to the point in my investigation where I figured since I couldn't see him before that would make him invisible but not what he touched. I guess.

Looking at the apple with wide eyes I ask Light, "A floating apple?"

Light seems shocked and Ryuk bursts out laughing at this, causing him to drop the apple. Light just shakes it off, chuckling while rubbing the back of his neck.

"I can explain"
