Delilah's POV

-

I woke up in my bed, with no memories of the night before. I stared at the ceiling trying to make patterns out of the plaster for a minute or two, when I heard Luke and Elizabeth fighting, Ashton's comforting words, and the city lights from Ashton's car, blurry from the tears in my eyes. I remembered almost everything from last night, except how I got here. Did Ashton come to my front door? Where did he go from my house? Did I tell him where I lived? Did I sneak through the window? I checked my phone. One new message.

From: Unknown Sender

Hey this is Ashton. Elizabeth gave me your #. I just wanted to make sure you're okay.

My heart did a backflip. Ashton cared about me. And Elizabeth was okay. I spent wayy  to long crafting the perfect response. I saved his contact and began to type my answer.

To: Ashton

Yeah I made it back okay. Thanks for checking in on me.

I set down my phone and headed towards the kitchen. I made myself a yogurt parfait for breakfast and sat down on the couch in the living room. I grabbed the remote and changed the channel to a recorded episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. My mom didn't seem to be anywhere around the house, so I guess she was working today. I heard a distant ding noise come from inside my room. Ashton texted me back.

From: Ashton

No problem. Are you free today?

Once again, my heart fluttered around in my chest. "Yeah I'm not doing anything today" I typed back and pressed send. I opened the phone app and called Elizabeth. I waited for a few rings, and then I heard Elizabeth's voice come through the phone. Relief flooded through me, then I realized it was her voicemail. "Hi, this is Elizabeth I can't be at the phone right now..." it played through the speaker. I ended the call and set my phone down on my bed again. I'm really worried about her, but I guess since she's M.I.A. as of right now, I can focus on Ashton and I. I heard my phone ding again, and I raced to my room.

From: Ashton

Cool, so can I get you around 8:00?

I waited for a few minutes, and then typed back, "Yeah that's good for me." My heart spun around like a carousel every time I thought of him. His dimples, his curly hair, his laugh, and his charming smile.
