Delilah's POV

-

Living in New York is hard. Traffic after school trying to get home is insane. I don't drive, but my mom does. It takes forever to get to our tiny apartment. Once we finally get to the apartment, I run to my room. I pick up my phone and read all my messages.

From: Elizabeth Hemmings

U coming to the party tonight?

To: Elizabeth Hemmings

From: Elizabeth Hemmings

To: Elizabeth Hemmings

Sure

From: Elizabeth Hemmings

Yes! Will pick u up at 8:00

That settles it, I guess I'm going to a party tonight. What if Ashton's there?! I've always had a crush on him but he never really noticed me. I gave up on that dream years ago. Ashton Irwin was the kind of guy to know about a party before it was even planned. He goes to every party. He's definitely going to be there. At least I have a ride. Elizabeth lives two floors above me and just shows up whenever. But what am I going to wear? What if Ashton can't come? What if something bad happens? I lie on my bed for a couple minutes pondering these questions.

-

"Hey loser!" Elizabeth calls out. "Hey!" I call back. "You ready?" She practically shouts. "Yeah, just one second!" I call out to her in response. "Wait, help me pick out an outfit?" I yell back at her. "Sure." calls back after hesitating for a second. Once she gets in there she scavenges through my closet. "Ugly, kinda-cute, ew when did you buy this?!" she calls out while throwing clothes out. "Hey!" I call back offended. "Sorry just speaking the truth." She honestly has no filter. Suddenly, she gasps. "PERFECT!" she screeches. "Geez!" I say holding my hand over my chest. "You scared me so bad!" I say a little more calm now. "Sorry.." she blushes,"I just got excited. Now throw this on and meet me in your living room." She says holding up some dress I don't even remember buying.

-

After I threw on the dress, I run to the living room while Elizabeth is screaming at my TV about some band on E News. "What are you doing?" I question, honestly scared for her mental health. "THE 1975!" She screeches at me jumping up and down pointing towards the TV. "OMG WHAT!" I yell back letting out a little gasp.

-

After fangirling for a while, we finally get ready to go, jumping out the window to the balcony, climbing down the staircase, and hailing a taxi. "201, Albany Ct." Elizabeth calls out to the driver. "That'll be a little ways." I whisper to her. Albany Ct. is further away from here. We live right in the middle of New York where it's as city as possible. Personally I think "Albany Ct." is a stupid name for a neighborhood. I mean like yeah Albany is the capital of New York, but it's not even in Albany.

-

When we arrive at the party; it's already trashed. I can tell this is going to be a pretty wild party. Well at least, not for me. I usually stick around my friends at parties. I remember when I lost my iPhone at a dance once. That was awful. Some random people ending up finding it and turning it back in. My mom almost killed me.

-

When we walk through the doors, Luke immediately runs up to Elizabeth. "Where have you been?" He questions her obviously upset about something. "We just got here." She answered confused. "The party started half an hour ago!" He almost yelled. "We were....It's only 30 minutes!" Elizabeth countered back trying not me mention fangirling over some band Luke probably didn't even know. "Ugh whatever!" Luke stormed off obviously upset. "Gee whiz!" Elizabeth mumbled. "I think I'll go get us some drinks." I said awkwardly to escape what just happened. "Okay." Elizabeth responded, obviously a little upset over the situation.
