Kurt answers Rachel's phone call, they haven't talked in a while because both of their schedules have been so crazy. "Well, look what big Broadway star is making time to call her long lost best friend" he tells Rachel. "Kurt, I know we haven't talked in a while, but I just went on holiday break for performing right now but I am in a major crisis at the moment. Will you help me?" Kurt notices a small panic in her voice so he knows it's something serious. "What's wrong?! Is everything okay?" he says equally as paniced as Rachel. "No, no everything is fine. Nothing's wrong. I got an email from Finn.." Kurt says nothing. "Kurt, did you hear me? Are you there?" Kurt knows that Rachel hasn't heard anything from Finn in years so he was just as shocked as Rachel. "Did you read it? What does it say?" Kurt asked Rachel. She cleared her throat "No, i haven't even opened it..I don't know what to expect..it's been over 8 years! What could it say?"
Rachel wasn't very good at hiding things, especially about her love life. It was painfully obvious that she was still hung up on someone. And Kurt being her best friend since high school he knew she was still hung up on Finn. "Rachel, you have to read it. I know you still think about him, I can see it in your face. See what he has to say, it might not be as bad as you think. You can call me after you've read it and talk about it if you want." Rachel smiled to herself, thankful for her friendship with Kurt. "Okay, I will. Thank you, Kurt." she hung up the phone and stared at her unopened email.
Rachel clicked on the email and opened it. She felt her heart start to race and her face started to get hot. She read his email and couldn't help but to smile at it. She loved him, she's always loved him and she really thought that she would always love him. When she finished reading it she stared at it for a few more minutes and just smiled. She would absolutely love to see him. She took a deep breath and then hit reply ane began typing.
"Well if it isn't Mr. Finn Hudson..I haven't heard from you in what? over 8 years? That's insane. Broadway is good, it's getting pretty routine but I still love it! How's everything been with you? I was so surprised to get an email from you. I would love to see you..it would be nice to catch up with you. I just finished my last show before the holidays so I'm free as a bird, lol. Make arrangements and you could probably stay in my loft, if you don't want to spend money on a hotel around the holidays..Well it was nice to hear from you, get in touch with me and we'll make more official plans. Love always, Rachel."
She smiled at her email and then hit send. With all of this happening, Finn was on her mind more now than ever. She was excited but also very nervous to see him. Maybe she wanted to settle down with him and start her own family. She was 29 now, it was something to think about.
