Chapter 3

All right Lena we are here, I practically jumped out of the car and I found him following me to walk me to the door.We did the awkward shaking of hands, my hands where shaking and my legs were trembling.I couldn't understand how could I have such a reaction to a person who I just met. I was acting like a teenager who just had her first crush.

Hmm ok good night Nick.

Next morning I woke up with a raging hangover. i was pretty sure it had nothing to do with the alcohol but tossing and turning I was doing the whole night.

Aliya came bouncing into the room she was like a rabbit on steroids. Lena, Lena, Lena are you up? Finally! Did you have fun last night?

Yeah it was ok.

How was your night?

It was amazing, OMG that guy taught me tricks I didnt know. What he did with his tongue was spectacular. Oh god I can feel it right now.

TMI Aliya TMI. I didnt need to know that. 

So are you going to see him again?

No Lina I don't think so. It was awesome but he isn't the one.

Aliya you don't find the one by sleeping around? You need to get to know him.

Ok mother,she responded with her eyes rolled. So are we game to go out tonight?

What are you kidding me? No one night is enough for me and please keep in mind that I am on limited resources. I need to find a job.

Ok ok fine, so will you be fine on your own tonight? I have to go to the other side of town will probably meet you tomorrow.

Yeah yeah please go, have fun and be safe.

The next week, passed like a breeze, I was busy applying for jobs, scouring for apartments, evaluating out how much it was cost  me. I was getting desperate I started looking at temp jobs because I needed the money soon. My funds were depleting and i didnt want to borrow money from Aliya. This plan of starting over was proving to be difficult. I found it depressing so I decided to take a walk, there was a dog park nearby and dogs always seemed to calm me down, maybe on my way back I would find a diner that would let me work for them for a bit.

The park was filled with dogs of different size, running around without a care in the world. I parked myself in one of the benches. I have always wanted a dog, they love unconditionally,soothe your pain and protect you. Just then the cutest Labrador comes up to me, sniffing my hands, then licking my face. I started rubbing under his jaw and he started lying down with his paws in the air, rolling on his back, I started rubbing his belly. this dog was the cutest, looks like he loved being petted. My mood was suddenly lifting up. 

" Oh I wish I was that dog" a low throaty voice said.

I knew the voice from somewhere, as I looked up my breath got caught in my throat.

It was none other than Nick, looking oh so gorgeous in a khaki shorts and green tee that accentuated his body like a flat sheet to a bed.

Hi Lina, Looks like Buckles has taken to you.

Buckles I smiled such a lovely name. 

I think I took to Buckles, oh how I wish I could take him home. I said

You really like dogs?

Like is an understatement. I love dogs, always wanted one and some day I will get one.
