My eyes open wider. As if maybe I can swollow Mercer's words with them. But I can't. I slowly step out from the crowd, and walk up on stage. I spot my sister, with a look of pure shock on her face. "And because of the quell, the second girl!" Mercer reaches into the bowl, and pulls out another name. The quell is that the boys ans girls will fight is different arenas, and because of that they still need 24 tributes, so double 'em.

"Rainathy Laest." She speaks loudly and clearly. She stumbles on stage. Rainathy lives in the town square, because she is the mayor's daughter. She looks terrified. Mercer quickly draws the boys. Rithon Ivy is the first one. He is also a chopper, and extreamly athletic, not to mention, attractive.

The other one is a 12 year old nobody named Linton Eton. He will die soon. We all leave to our houses. We get 20 minutes to say good bye.

I walk back into my house, alone. My family comes in 2 minutes later, esscorted by 3 Faceless. They are still called Peace Keepers, but in 7 we call them Faceless. My family bursts through the doors. We hug for at least half of the time allowed. Then I tell them that I probably won't come back, and that Benner has to start pulling his weight around. Kaya is crying. And my mom is too. I single tear rolls down my cheek as they pull my family away, and the others and Mercer bursts through the door. The mentor would be with them, but we don't have one. We all get on to a bus with the tributes from 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, and 8. We ride a bus all together now because the City of Lights is surounded by the districts. Much more fast, and cheap. Not that the City of Lights is short on that,m but they perfer not to share. We pick up the tributes from the other districts. There are two seats for each district, one for the boys and one for the girls.

There is no tributes parade, so we have training, then interviews. We start training tomorrow. Mercer and her "choppers" as she refers to us as, quickly find our room. The building is one large flat floor, made out of mostly steel and glass. The whole thing is held up by three thick steel bars, and is about 10 stories high. We have some weird City meal, and settle in for sleep.

The next day was training. I train with survival most of the day. Memorizing plants and things. The next day I focus souly on battle training. I focus mostly on ax and knife training. The last day I do traps.

I am not nervous for evaluation. I don't care for scores. They don't matter much to me. I go in and the head game maker speaks to me. "Kyon Talon. You have 15 minutes to prepare a skill to show us. Your time starts now."

I think for a split second, then deside I want them to remeber me. I gather all the weapons I can find, and stick a mat up on the wall. I throw the weapons into the wall until my time is done. I hope the game makers see what I see. I have spelled out the words: "Let us go." with weapons. I guess it worked. It earned me an eleven.
