I sit in a tree looking at the fake sky. My sister and I used to run together in a meadow throw our axes around. We would look up at the sky, and yell. But it wasn't Kaya. She was to little. It was my older sister, Corriana. She was amazing back then. And my dad was alive. Corriana got so depressed after that, that she became greedy, and almost evil. Our family discribed it as the darkness. It almost took her over. She married a rich City of Lights man, and divorced him, and took all his money. We haven't seen her since then.
I stop looking at the sky.
I drop down from the tree. Judging by the fake shadows, it's about noon. I lean up against the tree, before setting off to find water. I trudge through the forest, and bend down. There is moss on the ground. Wet moss. There is a river close by. I straighten, and continue to walk. I quickly find a stream, and bend down by it. I have a small bottle of iodine. But no cantine or anything to carry it with. No water skin or nothing. I dig through my pack, and run my hands along it. Then I find a little piece of fabric coming up off the bag. I pull it, and another pocket is reaveled. I reach into it, and pull out a blue pouch. It has a twist off hatch and a long straw running from it. I twist off the cap easily and fill it with water. I drop 4 drops on iodine into it. I wait for 20 minutes before I hear something. Rustling. I whip my head around and see them. Four careers. Both form 2, 1 from 4, and one from 1.
"Hello 7." 2 said.
"2." I nod. I try not to show the fear filling my grey eyes.
"Why don't you tell us how a little wimp like you got an 11? Huh Kyon?" She says. She speaks my name like an insult.
"Why don't you figure it out yourself?" I ask as I raise my ax. But I'm out numbered. By a lot. I don't try to fight. I run.
