But he didn't explain anything. Not until everyone came into the standing room as confused and concerned as I was. No one was the same as before and everyone had questions.
I didn't dare go near another person with everything going on nor them near me. The hole crowd had stood apart like soldiers waiting for a command.
"Everyone..." Charlie said standing on a table as to be seen by everyone.
"Congrats you made it through part one of this three part plan. The next things I'm about to tell you the rulers of our city have been trying to keep from us. There is another way of life than the one you have been given a better one than one that a committee has okayed for you to have.
This life is the life of the Ravens.
You all have decided to join this life and will now be allowed to continue to a life that you have a hand in. Your leader, Marcus Night is waiting for you." He announced and the room filled with joyous chatter.
"But before you meet the man that made you what you will be you have to take the fall. This is your second step in this new life then my job is over. So who's ready?" Many cheered at the end of his words but I had been the first to take the leap last time and his words shook me what will happen this time?
We where all corralled in this small room with glass windows how we had gotten up here I had no idea maybe we where transported while we where asleep but here we where miles off the ground a scary difference. The last one of us huddled in as Charlie said his last apology to us and closed his eyes.
"They're going to kill me later." He whispered almost inaudibly but somehow my ears picked it up. Obviously it wasn't fast enough because before I could say anything the platform dropped and we all started to fall the ten mile stretch down to earth.
The math went through my mind and I realized the small two foot wing span I had wouldn't help me from this drop range. I'm going to die. I thought clearly then I couldn't think. My heart was racing, and it felt like going down the tower of terror ride where they dropped you in this giant elevator four stories. Except you knew there where no brakes, no safety equipment, no way out. That oh so familiar spine tickle that use to bring joy scared me all the more. The earth was expanding before my eyes. Closer and closer I was getting to the ground. After brief seconds I can see city's and, towns. Looking behind me their are the twenty plus others that all made out of the hands of the police just to die from for stupid curiosity. I could now see we were going to land outside of town closer to the Forrest. I was done being afraid. What ever happened to me was going to happen, but then I heard it. A faint noise from behind me. I looked back again and one after another their wings that where one second ago small and useless shot out to their full potential and they started to glide down to earth slowing their speed of decent. Wait why haven't mine shot open? "HELP!" I screamed at the top of my voice. I was dangerously close to the ground now. All I could do was close my eyes and wait for death to come. My whole body tensed up as I awaited the crush of my spine against the cold, hard earth.
But Death didn't come instead there was a slow to my decent but, at the speed I was going nothing could catch me without me getting injured. I also hadn't felt my wings open as I had felt the baby wings sprout. My eyes shot open to the man who had saved me, a man with light brown wings, dark brown curly hair, and piercing green eyes. Swiftly he set me down then went off to help others who where in the same situation. I ran in the direction where he went my long legs carrying me far but the adrenaline rush was over. My legs where turning to jelly, my heart was racing, and my lungs gasped for air. I was out of breath already but, I had to find out what happened to us and who he was. So I continued as fast as I could through the trees and bushes. His speed was incredible and after a minute I lost him under the thick shade of trees. I have lost the only one who can help me get where I need to go. I hadn't cried in three years but all day today I couldn't Help it. I sat down in the moss and cried until a mix of nausea and exhaustion took me under and i was swiftly in a dreamless sleep.
