FINALLY, THE CLOCK TURNED to the number six, I've been watching it for like half an hour, needless to say I'm really excited, right?

Right on schedule the doorbell rang and I went straight to the door. Jared was waiting on the other side, his car parked on the street. I loved that car. Not because it was awesome and all modern or something, but because of what it represented: all the effort he put to buy it. He refers to it as his piece of shit with wheels, but I know he feels as much pride in it as I do.

"Ready?" He asked.

"As I'll ever be" I answered.

"'key, let's go pick up Steph".

I put my overly heavy bag on the truck and went to the front sit.

"Remind me again why he is not driving you?" Jared asked as he started the engine. We heard the usual struggles from the car, just like every time.

"He said he was getting everything ready and that he needed to buy some stuff." I answered using the same words he had when I had asked him that exact question. Honestly, I was kind of bumped that we weren't driving together, after all it was a two-hour trip... But I wasn't letting that silly little detail ruin the beginning of our trip, so I was determined to have a very pleasant and fun road trip with my two best friends.

There wasn't anything else that I cherished more than my friendship with this two people. I seriously don't know what I would do without them. At first it was only Jared and me, we've living across the street from each other for like eight years or so. It was a shock to discover Jared went to the same school I was going to start that summer. Mom had said that people in our neighborhood didn't go to the kind of school I was going to go, and she was right for the most part.

When we moved here after everything went down with dad, we lived with my grandparents for a while. Now, that, that was my school's kind of neighborhood. One house alone took the space five of my houses took, to say the least. Yeah that's an understatement, one house out there could be the size of ten of these houses. Yes, that sounded like a more accurate analogy. After mom got on her feet and saved enough to buy this house we left our grandparent's. But they insisted on paying for private school for me and my brother. They wanted as to have the best education possible. My mom was reluctant to accept it at first, she never wanted to depend on her rich parents in any way. But her mother convinced her that they were doing this for us, and that it was for our future. She finally agreed and frankly, I'm grateful she did, cause I know that kids that graduate from this specific private school have a clear path to ivy leagues. However, my dream is to get accepted to Julliard, and get a scholarship, but I also have a backup plan. My senior year was coming up and I had everything planned up already, I'm one of those people who like to have everything figured out in advance. Obviously, that my first plan was to audition for Julliard, but getting in was almost impossible, so I'm also applying for Yale that has a great art program as well. To add it to that, it's right here in Connecticut, and being near home would be a great perk, I'm not sure how I felt about moving to New York, though I was sure Jared would be there too. He also dreamed about Julliard, but was even more insecure than me about getting in. Which was stupid because he had to be the most talented person I have ever known. What he can do with a guitar and a keyboard is unbelievable. He wants to write songs, and he already has a few of his own that are simply amazing. They have no lyrics though, he says that's not his thing. Anyway, he was to get in, I mean, I can sing, I now I can, but is not like is something from another world, I'm sure there are millions of people that are much better than me, but I wasn't confident that there are as many people that can do what Jared does with those instruments. It was just pure magic.
