"I FOLD." I SAID. I finally gave in and let Scott and Stephanie to themselves. I didn't care I hadn't won, having beaten shithead was all the satisfaction I needed.
He was and will always be a douchebag, but maybe I had misjudge Scott. He wasn't so bad, I actually kind of liked him. The guy was funny I gave him that. And I was started to think maybe he did like Stephanie more than he led on.
"Good Holt." Steph said. "We all knew it would come to this." She said addressing to Scott.
"Ha, shut up and play." Scott told her. He was on edge by now. His pile of chips were laying very low now, while Stephanie's were piling up after each round.
"Getting anxious Harrison?" She provoked him.
"Not even close." He lied. "I'll match your fifty and raise you ten." He said putting some chips at the middle of the table.
"You're bluffing." She said and matched his bet.
They showed their cards.
"Damn you Stephanie, you have to be cheating." He stated while she shoved his chips in her pile.
"Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I'm innocent until proven otherwise." She said. She never cheated though. Mainly because she wasn't good at it but also cause she didn't need to. Specially not in this game, she has this expression that didn't reveal a thing and she could always tell when someone was bluffing. She was a fucking genius at that.
We were all watching the game closely. We wanted to know who was going to win that stupid bet they spend ages agreeing on.
"I'm done with it." Scott said when another hand of cards was dealt. "I'm all in." He said while pushing his remaining chips in the center of the table. "Two hundred and fifty-six dollars with twenty-five cents."
"I'll call your two hundred and fifty-six dollars." She said putting her chips. "And twenty-five cents." She added a little chip on the pile. "And I won't raise you since we are not playing for money." She told him.
"Fine. Give me two cards." He said. She gave him two new cards.
"I need one." She said and give one to herself. "Uhg, I thought I didn't need to raise you but with this cards..." She said and put more chips in the middle. "another two hundred." She said.
He got up from the table, walk inside and returned with his wallet in his hand. He put two hundred dollars on the middle.
We laughed. Dude had more money in his wallet than I did in my entire savings.
"You do know that if I win, I'll be taking those two hundred, right?" She asked him.
"I'm sure you will." He affirmed.
"Okay, the moment of truth..." Aly said clapping her hands. She was really excited and she wasn't even playing. She was so cute. "My money is on my bestie." She said and winked at Stephanie.
"Then you'll be losing too." He told her. The guy really was full of himself.
She revealed her hand.
"Straight diamond flush." She said.
"Dude, you're screwed." Austin told him.
"You think?" He asked as he turned his cards. "Royal flush. As good as it can get."
"What the hell?!" She practically screamed at him frustrated. Steph really had a problem with losing.
"Sorry babe." He said and pushed the big pile to his side. She still had a lot of chips left, so it didn't mean he won.
