Chapter 3

I got up from the woods. Shoot I forgot to bring clothes with me. All well whatever. So I checked the time it was only 5:30.I looked out to see if the Cullen's were there, they weren't. I decided to go sit on the bench. Before I knew it I had my eyes closed and I was out like a light.

Rose shook me awake "Nicole time for school come on." She said softly.

"Wow omg I can't believe I fell asleep what time is it." I asked

"It's 6:45 and did you sleep out here all night or what? You are wearing the same thing as yesterday." She responded

"Oh ok, I thought it was later. No, I didn't sleep out here I got off of work late. I forgot my key and my dad was sleeping. I didn't want to disrupt him." I replied. I mean I'm not completely lying, he was sleeping and would have hurt me if I awoke him from his sleep.

"Ok. Wait you have a job you are only 14. You should be enjoying childhood. Seriously!" Rose said

"I um um like being responsible. Plus you never know the next day you could be living in the streets, also its at the hospital and I like to help people out in ruff times." I answered honestly.

Rose decided to drop it "ok." She said. After we were talking the time was almost 6:58. The bell was going to ring in 2 minutes for class. We hurried I had art this morning with Jasper. I was drawing a picture of the Cullen's and me. We were all talking and having fun. Jasper looked at my drawing and went eyes wide. I laughed "Your face is so funny. Do you like it? Is it bad?" I asked

"I love it! How do you know how to draw like that?" Jasper questioned

"Great, and also I have a lot of free time. What else could I do?" I then mumbled its not like I am aloud out of the house anyway.

"What do you mean by that?" Jasper questioned

I "How did you hear me? I was speaking way too low for you to hear and I got grounded." I said

"Sorry to get in your business I was just wandering and how did you get grounded" He asked

"Its ok and if you must know I lied to my Er dad about something Bye!"I told him right before the bell rang. I ran so he couldn't ask me any following questions, because I don't want him to know I was lying about that.

I walked into gym class after I got my gym clothes on. I changed in the bathroom so no one could see the bruises. Alice was in my gym class. We were running the mile today. Dang it! I jumped up and my shirt was showing a little bit.

Alice looked at me worried"Nicole what happened you have bruises all over! Is someone hurting you." She asked

"I am fine don't you remember what happened the other day with Jessica. Its just from that day." I huffed

"Oh ya I am so sorry for asking." She said.We then walked up to the track for the mile.

The teacher Mrs. Cronk said "everyone find a spot on the track and when I say go you can go. Also remember your time. GO!"

Alice and I ran in a steady pace. We were ahead of everyone else, they just walked or jogged while we ran.

When we finished the teacher told us "6 minutes and 12 seconds nice job." We just nodded and walked and talked. The rest of the day was a blur. Of course I couldn't go without getting hurt by Jessica because when I was getting ready to walk home. Jessica came up "Where are you going little shrimp." She says sassy.

"Home" I answered.

"You can't go home yet! You know you haven't faced me all day, you need to get what you deserve before you go." She screams at me

"why do you pick on me?" I asked

"Because you have everything,and you need a little bad in your life spoiled brat!!!!" She yelled

"That's not true." I stated and started running home. Before I got home she grabbed me and twisted my arm it is probably broken, but not because of her it hurt before from Eric. I then screamed and she ran so she wouldn't get caught. Next thing I know the Cullen's are in front of me saying they are going to take me to the hospital.

I refused "I am fine!" I told them They still took me to the hospital.

Carlisle looked at me and took a x-ray and found out it was broken. Carlisle asked me "What color cast do you want Blue, Purple, Pink, Black, or White."

"White." I answered. After he put the cast on it was like 6:00. "Bye Carlisle thank you see you later!" I yell

"No Nicole stay home today don't come to work today just relax and your welcome." He said sternly. I just walked out the door and thanked him. As I was walking home I got scared what Eric was going to do. I tried taking the cast of because if he saw that he would freak but I failed.

When I got home he was pissed, he saw the cast and throw me into the wall. Eric kicked me in the ribs multiple times.Screaming at me saying "I HATE YOU, YOU ARE WORTHLESS TO ME, YOU CAME HOME LATE AND NOW I WON"T HAVE DINNER! YOUR MOM WOULD THINK OF YOU AS A BAD CHILD, PEOPLE PROBABLY FIGURE OUT BECAUSE OF YOU! I BET YOU TOLD EVERYONE. YOU ARE A MISTAKE YOU SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BORN!" I cried and that made it worse. He then throw me into the closet. I called Carlisle.

Carlisle: Hello

Me: I won't be in tomorrow to work. I think I caught a bug sorry.

Carlisle: Do you want me to come and take a look at you because you don't sound good

Me: Ya I am sure its just a cold bye

Carlisle: Ok Nicole I hope you feel better bye

Then I hung up and called the school telling them I was sick and wasn't going to school tomorrow. I was going to call Alice to say I couldn't go to the sleepover, but I didn't have enough power before the blackness took over me and I was out.
