Inside a Cell

A harsh laugh rings around me.

One escapes my mouth.

Another emitted from a different area of the room.

And suddenly, a horrendous amount of laughter is ringing around in waves.

I don't want it to go away.

Suddenly the door opens and my head snaps in that direction.

Everything is in slow motion.

A guard runs up to me and tries to stop the blood from pouring from out of my slitted wrists.

But there is no hope for me.

So another laugh bubbles up inside of me and erupts from my mouth, shaking my whole body.

Blood spills over my bottom lip and some of it splashes on the guard's face.

My teeth are coated with blood, both wet and dry.

I smile at the guard and say, "You're coming with me."

The knife that I used on my wrists appears in my hand and I stab him right in the chest.

A satisfied sigh comes from me as I realize that this will be the last of many deaths at my hand.

And as the light slips from my eyes, I know that this is the last time that I will be alive.
