Darkness swirls around me, contracting to my will. A girl is lying peacefully in her bed, having left the mortal world only seconds ago. My laugh echoes around the room, collecting more darkness and bringing it to me. I can see the beautiful soul of the child, resting inside of her body. I force the darkness to constrict in the room, forming it into the shape of her body. I then put it inside of her and watch as her soul tries to fight the dark.

Blinding light fills the room, pulling a bloodcurdling scream from me. I can hear, from stories below us, the breathing of her parents, unable to hear the battle above them. A form appears inside of the light, staring at me with disgust plain in their eyes. They form a body made up of pure light and insert this into the child's body, ripping apart my darkness with one flick of his wrist.

"Ah, of course, you would come here," I say, not at all surprised. The girl was supposed to be mine, today was suppose to be the death of her. "This isn't your battle. She is going to leave the world today, no matter what you want to think."

The words fall on deaf ears as Life once again makes the girl's lungs move up and down with rasping breaths, causing for her heart to start beating again. Laughing, I conjuncture up as much darkness as I can, making it seem like I am going to attack Life. But with all of the power that I bring up, I know that it won't phase him. So, at the very last second, I put all of it into the body of the girl. Her body convulses, leaving the world for good. While Life desperately tries to save her, I take her soul and return to where my home is. The underworld.
