After what seemed like eternity of silence to Kongpope, Arthit finally placed his head on his palms like his hands were cupping his face, as he looked right at Kongpope and broke the silence.
"Mr. Oh-so-popular, aren't we?"
Arthit placed an emphasis on every word he was saying, and Kongpope heard the toxic in his words. Kongpope just hung his head, unable to form any retort to those words.
He looked like he was going to flare up any moment now, and steam seemed to be going off from his ears and above his head, as the older guy was venting his frustration when they just finally sat down on a random restaurant from the poor decision-making on both parties.
Since they were in no mood to be talking and eating now, they randomly chose some food just to fill in their stomachs, while not forgetting to order the normal drinks they both like, a glass of pink milk for Arthit and iced coffee for Kongpope. Both of them really needed to chill with their favorite drinks to calm them down, especially Arthit. Since they were way past normal lunch time, the waiter who was serving them came right away, and served their drinks almost immediately.
Arthit just pouted and refused to talk much even as Kongpope tried to make some idle conversation with the other guy, and so Kongpope just explained truthfully about the freshman before P'Arthit would misunderstand even further.
"Are you jealous, P'?"
Kongpope tried to test the water first, as last time he had a hunch that P'Arthit had been jealous of Praepailin, before Kongpope had informed the senior that Praepailin only likes girls.
Arthit's eyes widened a fraction, before they returned to normal and looking straight at Kongpope in the eyes.
"Well, do I have the reason to be jealous of that freshman, whoever he is?"
Wow! Kongpope did not expect that at all, to be asked back with such question. That was how much trust P'Arthit had on him and he was so touched that he wanted to hug the guy right there and then, not giving a damn about the public place they were at right now. He had thought that was the reason behind Arthit's moody face and his one-word replies to anything that Kongpope had said.
Kongpope just smiled as he explained to Arthit.
"No, P', you don't have to be, and there is truthfully no reason for you to be. That freshman, N'Gun, was well-known to be quite cheerful and open to the seniors, and he was one of the few who did not quaver in front of the hazer team, and still showing his respect whenever necessary. He might be a bit of a player sometimes, but when needed, he would always go serious and attentive. I think he is a good candidate for the next head hazer. But I still have not asked my team yet though. So, it was not confirmed yet, but I feel he shows the potential to be one."
Arthit just listened halfheartedly to Kongpope's explanation. Obviously this oblivious guy did not notice the besotted look that this N'Gun, or whoever he was, was giving him. The freshman was obviously sticking so closely to Kongpope, invading his personal space, which Arthit was going to cut them off by being in the middle of the two. Arthit just held back because he was trying to be mature, since he was supposedly the eldest out of the three, and of course also because he had faith in Kongpope.
Though he said that, he still got pissed off at both Kongpope for not noticing the obvious advances, and for that N'Gun to be so damn clingy (in Arthit's own opinion of course). He had lost count how many curses he had said in his head, and how many times he had hold back in grabbing the freshman in the collar to get him out of Kongpope's side. Arthit just sipped on his pink milk in front of him while waiting for their food to come, while Kongpope was still looking at him, seeing if he needed to give further explanation.
