Mabel.

Standing in front of me definitely wasn't a demon.

With a bit of glowing light still dancing around his body, he looked like he was just descended from the heavens above. His skin was a bit of a Californian tan, his eyes vibrating warmth with its dark hue of yellow. He was surprisingly blond, well, maybe given that his whole body was yellow before.

I expected him to be dressed as funny. Not exactly the funny one, but the more out-of-this-world one with capes and such. But he wore old tattered jeans, a pair of worn-out sneakers and an orange t-shirt underneath a blue jacket. My eyes focused on his eyelashes; girls could be envious of his eyes.

They could be envious or they could fall in love with it. But... I'd like to think that the first option's better.

The freaking glow finally died but when he smiled, it felt like it was there again. He can smile. I mean, of course he can, but most of the time I take his smiles as smirking or grinning because of making fun of me... I don't expect him to smile just because. Just because, what? Just because he's looking at me?

"Shooting Star."

That's when my chain of thoughts was suddenly cut short. It took me a split-second to just look at him before proceeding to chop him off like a ninja. Err. It just looked like I was a baby hitting her father because of not getting a lollipop.

I paused to catch my breath. "How—why—Bill!"

"Bill Cipher at your service," he said, bowed, and then laughed. Butterflies occupied my stomach, going chaotic inside as I listened to more of his endearing laughs. "Yes, why, I am human." He looked at his arms and legs, as if to make sure that it was really there.

"I—I thought—the girl—" I tried to compose myself. My heart was beating so loud, I was afraid he could hear it. It was beating maybe because of bewilderment, and the other one, I don't even want to mention. With a deep breath, I then continued, "I thought the girl had to love you back."

He smiled. (Gods, I wasn't even used to seeing him having lips) "And? Why am I human now?"

Blood rush—1,000,000% up to my face! I swear I look like a tomato; a very sweet one, in fact. I felt my face heat up as if I woke myself up with burning water. Before I could even let out a retort, he hugged me real tight my lungs could've hurt. I was out of air. But being near his presence...

Was one of the best things I've ever experienced.

"Shooting Star," he half-breathed, sending the hairs of my body to bolt upright. His breath felt warm against the side of my neck. "Shooting Star..."

With an awkward smile that he couldn't see, I let go of the hug and tried my best to not combust to ashes while looking at him, straight in the eyes. "It's Mabel Pines." He was wordless whilst he started to stare at me. It became a little tricky to not be awkward that's why I suddenly found the bed sheet interesting.
