Mabel shut the door beside her and heaved a sigh.
The Shack was dark, with no light left open. She waited for about 5 seconds for it to burst into life but nothing happened—which sucked. That mostly happened in movies, but why not in real life? Dipper should've been sitting in the couch, giving her a look, demanding to know where she's been or what she has done for today.
But nada; the room remained dark. It wasn't exactly evening yet, but she guessed that everyone just wanted a good night sleep. Shrugging the thought off, she started to pace towards the stares, when a familiar voice startled her to death. The lights suddenly turned on, just like in the movies and shows that she watched.
It was Dipper.
So maybe he planned this all along; to scare his twin, making fun of her at the same time. How mature of him to think of that.
"How was it?" He asked, crossing his arms.
"It was okay," Mabel replied, not sure of whether to tell the exact details of what happened or not. He was her twin, and they swore to never hide anything from each other. "Um, I'm quite tired today," she said, "I'm going to sleep."
She was about to go but then stopped—again. Dipper made a sound, saying: "Details tomorrow. You're not going to escape."
Mabel rolled her eyes, trying to ease the tension a bit. Was she really that transparent to read, or was just Dipper being a good observer? Or maybe this was a twin thing? Gods, she doesn't even know. "I'm not trying to hide anything," she lied.
Dipper shrugged that off. Mabel gave him a scowl and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Today was a really tiring day. Who knew matchmaking Bill could cause so much tiredness? It was too much work! He didn't have consideration, his socializing skills are meant for people who're "cool" in such ways.
Like, he's okay. Except for the fact that he was a demon. Do demons have sweet bones? Basing on Mabel's observation, Bill didn't. He just expected that he could woo a girl as easy as pie; or cake, whatever.
She rinsed her face and stared at her reflection. As she thought about the things that had happened, her face lightened up a bit. The dark circles underneath her eyes seemed to vanish bit by bit, and her smile; it appeared all of a sudden, she caught herself.
Why was she smiling, again?
Before someone could even see her (Dipper, that is), she locked the door of the bathroom and went straight to the shower. She took of her clothes and decided to bathe. As she turned on the shower, warm, relaxing water made contact with her flawless skin.
She closed her eyes as she tried to recall the events. She didn't know why—she was confused, even—images of Bill kept on flashing, his voice so weird yet so calming. She closed her eyes shut, but the way he loomed near her; it was the only thing she saw.
She was brought back to reality when someone knocked on the door.
Dipper's voice made her heartbeat slow down. "Mabel, what's taking you so long?"
She heaved a sigh, and steadied herself before peering through the curtain, saying: "I–I'm taking a shower. Will be there in a minute!" She rinsed herself abruptly now, getting her bathrobe, going to their bedroom to get some clothes (of course, Dipper not peeking, even though she wasn't undressed) and went back to the bathroom.
Mabel nervously put on the clothes. Everything was weird now. Bill Cipher himself was the weirdest person she knew, and now that she gets to "hang-out" with him? Maybe all things would be weird in her perspective.
