"Ugh," you groaned before slamming your head down against the oaken bureau.

Papers flew up as a result, before scattering gently around your motionless body. The mess was the least of your worries. The area was already a disaster, with random books and sheets of paper piled high to your knees; what's a couple more going to do?

There were more important things to worry about. Like trying to win the upcoming battle. You had been working non-stop day and night trying to design a victorious guarantee on the battlefield. Your last tactic barely managed to secure a victory. You had been working so hard on keeping everyone alive that you neglected to use each individual asset to your advantage.

Seems like you should probably stop those weekly battle-field games with Virion and start cracking open some more books.

Chrom's army had almost lost. Your victory was barely a victory. It was nothing but a mere stroke of luck. If the weather hadn't changed for the worst; if it was The Ylissian Shepherds stationed at the side of the battlefield where the landslide had occurred, then the Halidom of Ylisse would be no more.

Fortune was on your side that day. But you weren't a fool to rely on Lady Luck on the battlefield.

You would redeem yourself as the Chief Tactician this upcoming battle. After all, you owed it to your captain and savior, Chrom. If it weren't for him, who knows where you would've ended up? He had welcomed you so warmly into his kingdom and had taken care of you so well; even though he had no clue of your origins. You could've been a spy from Plegia, but Chrom still took you under his wing and gave you a new home. He even stood up to his family and his most trusted companions in order to defend you. He placed his trust wholeheartedly in you.

The least you could do was give your heart and soul to fighting for his cause.

This time... This time for sure you'd make sure to correct your mistakes. No more slip-ups. You'd make sure to station each troop accordingly to their abilities and to use the terrain to your advantage.

The pegasus knights should take the lead, while being backed up by the mages and archers. The latter will remain in the backlines, for the rocky terrain would surely result in their demise. In the meantime, swordsmen will accompany the Cavaliers and charge into the enemies' front lines... A select few of the most talented healers will ride in with the Cavaliers to provide aid and support. Then, as the enemy front lines are scattered, Chrom will ride in with Frederick and face the commander head on...

Your squeezed your eyes shut, trying to imagine the scene. You played it out in your head over and over again... And in each scenario, you factored in every possible tactic that the enemy may have taken. Your plan would be a complete fail if the front line consisted of archers, for archers hold an advantage over the pegasus knights. But considering the enemy, the chances of that happening were less than 30%. Even so, should you take the risk? You weren't very comfortable enacting your tactic unless the chance was below 10%.

"[Y/N]? Ah, there you are."

Startled out of your thoughts, you quickly jumped to your feet. The sudden blood rush caused you to stagger a bit, but you managed to steady yourself with the help of your desk. However, the action caused yet another paper avalanche to tumble from your desk and contribute to the clutter on the ground.

You gave out a small cry; realizing that one of those sheets that were now lost among the sea of paper contained the very tactic you had been slaving over endlessly for the past week.

"Oh no!"

Completely forgetting your visitor, you immediately dove into the sea of papers. You didn't care about the paper cuts - the very life of your friends and the future of Ylisse hung in your hands.
