It's a bloody fight. I've killed many Creatures, but they busted me up pretty bad too. My shoulder is mutilated and my calve is almost ripped open, I can barely walk. I squat down near a boulder to rest. I spot Frosty near a fallen tree and I crawl over to her. She looks terrible, her clothes ripped and tattered, and she has many scratches on her face and arms.

She smiles at me, "How's that dagger working for you?"

I answer, "Just fine, actually."

"And your telekinesis."

"Just peachy."

Frosty lifts her head above the tree trunk and is disgusted. "Katheryn, we're badly outnumbered. It seems like when one dies another replaces it. How are we gonna win this?"

I nod in agreement. We could totally win if...

Ultimate Power! I could trigger it and kill every single Creature here. I begin to pinch my arm.

"Katheryn, what are you doing?" Frosty asks.

I pinch harder. "I'm trying to trigger Ultimate Power."

Frosty laughs, "I don't think that'll work, Katheryn." I stop because it becomes very painful.

Frosty and I both hear screaming in the distance. Frosty stands and looks to the horizon. "I gotta go. Good luck, Katheryn."

I nod and crawl back to my boulder. That's when I hear even more screaming; tiny high-pitched screaming. I crane my neck when I see Creatures surrounding something. I carefully slide down the tiny hill I'm near and see a huge gaping hole in the ground filled with children.

There are two Creatures taunting the children. When I slide down further, one of them has seen me.

Before it can attack, I throw my dagger and surprise myself when it lands in its head. The other one is flying towards me when it catches on fire. It falls to the ground, twitches a few times, and then vanishes.

One little girl, the little girl who gave me the flowers, is the first kid I notice. She looks very angry and worse than I do.

"I hate them so much." She says, her lip quivering.

I smile at her. "Yeah, me too."

I tell all the little boys and girls to follow me up the hill. When we get to the top I look around hastily for someone to help me. That's when I spot Jason going at it with a Creature; I shout his name three times before he can hear me. Jason plunges a large icicle into the chest of a Creature before approaching me.

"Jason, Creatures were messing with these kids. Now I don't know what to do with them, they're too little to fight."

Jason says, "Katheryn, don't panic. I'll take them somewhere safe."

As I turn to go, Jason takes a strong hold on my wrist. He says very seriously, "Katheryn..."

"Yes?"

"Don't die."

Creatures are everywhere killing and destroying. Frosty was right, we are losing badly. How can't I die in this fight? I'm not as strong as they are. I look at Jason. "No promises."

Jason strengthens his grip, "I'm serious Katheryn."

I break free and say, "Me too," before I turn to run.

When I lift into the air, a Creature yanks my leg and drags me down to the ground. I yelp, but the Creature then grabs me by the throat and she lifts me in the air. I swing my dagger, but I'm too focused on trying to break away from her. It laughs at my struggle.
