Kamiko was the last one to the breakfast table that morning. The three girls were already there. Even Kai had managed to get out of bed.

The girls were talking to Damian. Kai was sitting across the table from the girls. He had his arms crossed and he was glaring at them from behind his charcol bangs. Kamiko took a seat in-between him and Damian. She could hear Kai grumbling under his breath.

“I told you to sleep through breakfast,” she whispered.

“I got hungry, okay?” Kai whispered back.

Kamiko laughed a little and patted Kai on the head. He maintained his grumpy composure for only another second before Kamiko noticed the light pink shade of blush on his face.

“Heh, I’ve never seen you blush before,” Kamiko said, not even bothering to be quiet anymore.

Damian turned around and took a look at his friend. Kai’s arms were crossed and his messy hair was in his face, but there was a noticeable shade of blush across his cheeks. His ears were starting to turn red as well.

“Aw, look at him,” Damian said with a slight laugh. “Mr. Tough Guy’s blushing!”

“Shut up! I am not!” Kai yelled.

“You so are. Why, are you embarrassed or something?” Kamiko replied.

“Well duh! You’ve never patted me on the head before!” Kai roared back.

“What? It’s not like I meant anything by it. I was just doing it to you because you always do the same thing to me,” Kamiko said calmly.

“Well, it’s different, okay?”

“Why? Last night you just said I’m not a ‘real’ girl.”

“Never mind...” Kai started to grumble under his breath.

Kamiko shrugged. “Fine, have it your way...”

Kai stood up from the table and started to walk out of the kitchen.

“Hey, I thought you said you were hungry,” Kamiko said.

“I’m not anymore...” he grumbled.

“Whatever...”

“You’re being so quiet, Jenifer... Is something wrong?” Damian asked.

They had been sitting around the breakfast table for a while now. Ivy, Justine, Damian, and Kamiko had been making small talk, but Jenifer hadn’t said one word since Kamiko had come downstairs and joined them.

“I...” Jenifer never finished her sentence. “No, there’s nothing wrong.” She sounded pissed.

“Come on, tell me.” Damian smiled at her and Jenifer crumbled.

“I just don’t believe you’re really dating someone like her.”

Jenifer shot Kamiko a glance as she spoke.

“What, you don’t believe me?” Damian asked.

“No, I can believe you... It’s her I can’t believe,” Jenifer replied. “How do I know she didn’t put you up to this because she has a crush on you?”

“Oh, come on. Why would I lie to you?”

“Like I said, she could’ve put you up to it without you even realizing it.”

“Come on, Kamiko wouldn’t do something like that, right Kamiko?”

“Huh? What are we talking about?” Kamiko asked.
