*Pheobe*

Waves. The sound of waves and drips of water was all that I heard. Everything echoed as if I was in a cave.... Strange.

Everything is numb, I can't move, can't even open my eyes.

'Pheebs' a voice echoed, a voice I hadn't heard in a very long time.

"Mama?" I whispered, but voice didn't travel anywhere. Instead it seemed to stop as if I was speaking straight into a rug.

'Sweetheart you need to scream. I need you to scream as loud as you can, it's the only way.' The voice seemed so real, so..... familiar.

I spoke slightly louder as to push past the barrier that tried to silence my speaking. "Mama what are you talking about? You're scaring me."

"It's the only way to be safe." This wasn't making any sense.

"I-.. I doing know what you're talking about! Please Mama, explain!" I pleaded, tears brimming my eyes.

"Do what sirens do and scream. Screech and scream until you find your way home Pheobe."

My body suddenly felt alive with electricity. Every cell inside me jolting with power.

My eyes shot open and I went into overdrive. I leapt up from the table that previously supported my weight and held my arms out at trhe blurry figures in front of me. Then... I did as I was told.

I screeched using every muscle in my body. Waves of energy radiated off of me pushing the figures against the wall behind them as they held their ears for some form of relief.

From the corner of my eyes I could see the ends of my hair whipping and thrashijng in different directions as they seemed to fade in and out of various shades of blue.

I never ran out of air as I continued to push my intruders away.

This was strange. I've never had so much power before... so much control.

Suddenly the power stops and my train of thought get interuppted by a sudden drainage of energy. My body gives way and I collapse to my hands and knees, eyes bowed to the ground.

I gasp, taking in deep, quick paced breaths. My eyes grow wide. What just happened? What did I do?

I feel a weight around my neck and trace it with my fingers. A collar.

I look up, eyes meeting with the masked face of Bruce, my own pleading for answers.

"Inhibitor collar." Was all he said at first. Moments pass before he speaks again. "What are you Pheobe?"

Although it was a question, it cam out more like a statement. I wracked my brain looking for an answer and all o could do was hear the echoing voice, repeating the same word over and over again. 'Siren. Siren. Siren. Siren.'

I licked my lips, feeling how dry and cracked they were and acknowledged how hard it was still to catch my breath, but not impossible.

I looked up, connecting my eyes with the ones beneath the mask.

"Siren." The one word came out so empty, it was almost as if I was unsure, but deep down I knew it was true. Parts of me seemed to have intesified. Things around mee seemed to be both visually and audibly enhanced. I could nearly feel the plates in the earth shift beneath the floor.

"A Siren?!" Aquaman gasped. I glancedd in his direction as my breathing finally steadied.

His face contorted in concentration, like he was having a mental debate with himself, and my theory was confirmed as I suddenly heard his voice loud and clear.

Aquamans eyes widened like he could feel my presence in his inner voice. Suddenly I was shut out and he spoke.

"Kill her." He demanded. Everyone gasped and stepped in his was as he drew his trident and viciously stomped his way towards me.

Diana tied him with her lasso, drawing him backwards in her direction.

"Why do you say such things?" She demanded.

The lasso began to glow, Aquaman fighting to keep his mouth shut, but losing the battle.

"Sirens are an abomination of the universe. They kill and maim for the sake of entertainment and are NEVER to be trusted. They are the reason millions of men have died at sea and more have jumped from bridges to their death. The scream and cry a terrible noise to their enemies and sing a luring song to those they want to victimize." His confession sends a shock through my body.

Richard grew angry, quickly I might add. "This is Pheobe we are taking about, she wouldn't that!"

"Did you not witness what she just did?!" Aquaman lashed, "you are foolish if you choose to ignore the obvious warnings boy!"

"Enough!" Superman boomed. He was not one easy to anger, but he seemed to have had enough. "No one is killing her. Until we figure out how to handle this, Pheobe will be taken to the Amazonians for protection. Is that clear?"

Diana nodded, Releasing Aquaman from his binds.

"Come" Diana said, holding her hand out to me "we must get there as soon as we can."

I looked to Richard as he sighed in defeat and nodded to me.

Taking Diana's hand, I left, wondering what exactly happened to me.
