Eren pushed through the crowd tripping and stumbling through the sea of people. He flashed his badge at the police just to make sure as he reached the edge. They let him slip by keeping the rest of the crowd at bay. Looking at the scene in front of him the urged to puke arose but he kept it down just like all the other cases. His first case he had emptied his stomach into the nearest garbage bin. As he took in the scene before him he understood why Christa was so shaken.
A body lay in the grass it's arms and legs at weird angles. If it wasn't for the priest robes you would have never known who it was as it lacked a head. Eren shook down the urge to puke again and turned to the nearest officer on the scene.
"Any clues so far?" he questioned while taking out a notebook and pen. The young freckled officer looked a shade of green, clearly a newbie. Eren was proud of him for not spilling his lunch by now.
"All we know is that he was on his way home when he died," the officer took a deep breath before continuing "We didn't find anything else for now."
"And the head?" Eren raised an eyebrow as his eyes flickered to the name tag that read "Marco".
"Gone," said a voice that made Eren want to immediately turn around and punch the owner.
"I wasn't asking you horse face," Eren taunted as he rolled his eyes. (ignore the space idk why my computer does that)

Jean strolled over next to Marco before replying with "Just helping out detective."

"So the head has just vanished not even a sign where it went?" Eren probed.

Before Jean could answer Marco piped in "Yes detective not even a trace of a blood trail." Eren stood perplexed at this new information. A head couldn't just vanish without a trace.

"Did you check the woods?" he challenged.

"Checked them thoroughly sir," Marco echoed back.

"Of course we did we aren't stupid!" Jean retorted. This just puzzled Eren even more. He jotted things down in his notebook and sighed and before he asked, "Is that all?"

"Yes, sir," Marco saluted. Eren shook hands with Marco and sneered at Jean before bidding just Marco a good day. Once he got back to his workplace Eren noticed that on one side of his sign the metal chain had snapped from rust. "I'll have to get that fixed later today," He mumbled to himself.
