The words were unspeakable for Emily, she couldn't,  she didn't want to admit what had happened, she couldn't believe it,  they were inseparable, not just best friends but sisters, twins. 

15.01.13 

"Em, I've got such a bad headache" Maddy moaned waking her sister who was beside her in the bed. They did have separate beds in one room but Emily insisted on sleeping by Maddy's side when she first started to complain she felt ill. 

"It'll be ok, it's probably just a virus' she pulled her in resting her sisters had on her shoulder squeezing her tightly "I love you so much Mads' she said kissing her forehead 

"I love you too Em" 

Everything else just happened so quickly, Maddy started vomiting, she was struggling for breath, crying and screaming before she fell into a unconscious state in Emily's arms. The sound of approaching ambulances soon filled the streets. Emily begged for help as the paramedics pulled Maddy's lifeless body away from her.

'She had a brain aneurysm, we've had to put her in a induced coma but she can't breath by herself because too much damage was caused to the brain, I'm afraid there is only a very small chance she will wake from this coma, less than 5% and if she does she will be unablLe to do anything for herself" 

Being a doctor herself the girls mum knew Maddy would have no quality of life if she was to pull through, that's why she made the decision, she knew in her heart it was the best thing for her. 

Maddy's machines were switched off at 6.27 that night, she died at 6.29, her mum and sister by her side holding her hand as they cried every last tear they had.

"My sister, my best friend, my everything"  Emily began to speak to the overfilled church "Maddy was my rock, people say they would hate to be a twin, a person you have to share everything with, but I loved it, having someone I could always turn to and who always understood me" she turned away from everyone and faced the white coffin that held Maddy "I love you Maddy, I can't imagine what life will be without you and I won't have to because I know you'll be with me every second of every day, I love you" 

Beyonce I was here filled the church through the speakers, it wasn't your typical church song but being Maddy's favourite at the time her family had insisted it was played. Six men took their place by the side of the coffin, Uncle Mark and Josh, Maddy's boyfriend at the front, their two cousins Ben and Jake behind them then their school friends Charlie and Alfie at the back, they lifted the coffin into the air holding it on their shoulders as they walked in down the aile. There wasn't a dry eye in the whole of the church as everyone held their flowers and followed behind silently just with the distanct echo of I was here from the church as they approached the empty grave. 

Her body was lowered slowly as the crowd regathered, everyone stepping forward one by one taking their final chance to say goodbye and drop something special into the grave. It was Maddy's turn, she stepped forward clutching onto a old teddy bear, it was shared by the twins, their favourite. She knelt down and dropped the teddy "I love you" she whispered wiping the tears away from her eyes "I will never, ever forget you" she stood up walking back into the crowd where her mum grabbed her pulling her into a tight embrace as tears poured down both their cheeks.
