Lapis looked at the hastily-scrawled note with a face of small confusion. The note was scribbled on a crumpled napkin, and looked like it was written by a five-year old. But the bluenette was compelled by the small doodle of the alien next to the "P" and lower-cased letters.
She looked around the small shop, and noticed in the corner booth a small girl on her laptop. She had oval glasses, and spiked blonde hair. She was quite adorable, with her green hood and tiny scowl. She glanced up, and their eyes locked.
She flicked her eyes back to her electronic, typing furiously.
Lapis smiled, a small blush on her face. She ripped open her purse, rummaging through the small handbag until she found a pen. She quickly wrote on the make-shift paper, and on her way out left the note on the table next to her friend's computer. She thanked the barista for the drink and scurried out into the summer evening.
The nerd reached for the paper with doubts, and carefully unfolded her letter, surprised she even bothered to reply in the first place. She watched as the beauty walked along the sidewalk, and wondered if she'd be back for her usual tomorrow.
Peridot shook her head and read the neat handwriting, preparing herself for the worst.
Sure!
My number is on the back.

There was a scribbled tear drop next to "L." Peridot just stared with astonishment. She immediately thought of the girl's bright blue hair, and her unusual clothing that most found weird and mismatched but Peridot found extremely different and compelling. She just thought she looked lonely walking in to order her coffee each night alone as she stared off into the distance.
Maybe... Peridot was what she needed.
She exited the shop, her ice-coffee in hand. She parked herself next to a more quiet and secluded place in the city, and dialed her cell immediately.
