A Thug's Eternal Love: The Final Chapter
~DeShawn P.O.V.~
~3 Weeks Later~
Today was my graduation. It was not just mine but also Nicole's. We were finally graduating from this hell hole of a school and I couldn't be anymore happier.
"You nervous?" Nicole asked as she helped adjust my cap.
"I just don't wanna trip and fall while I'm going to get my diploma. What about you?" I laughed once she was done.
"I'm hella nervous. I never liked big crowds-"
"You do realize about half the people in the crowd is just our family alone. I'm talkin all the Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, Cousins, and gang members are all gonna be there. Uncle Varo even asked to just rent out half the chairs just for the family." Yup. That's how big the family was at this point.
"Still! DeShawn I'm hella scared now." It was time for the class to go sit in the chairs and wait to be called up.
"Relax, just smile and think nothing of it. Just pretend its just your Dad and Grandma in the stands." We gave each other one last hug before we split ways. She was in the front because of he last name and I was more towards the back.

We were all at the graduation. That included Leah. I was willing to put aside my feelings just for the sake of a peaceful graduation ceremony for DeShawn.
Lexis the boys and I were up in the front row. Leah had sat on the opposite side of Lexis and that alone had me wanting to just slap her. She had no business sitting right on the other side knowing damn well Lexis didn't want her there.
"Hey Lexis" She said with a smile as she put her purse on the ground. I just rolled my eyes. The thirst and level of fakeness she had was all too real at this point. I felt Lexis nudge me indicating to just relax and ignore her.
"Hey Leah" he said before turning his attention back to the ceremony. I didn't like being so close to her, she shouldn't even be here, she does nothing for DeShawn. All she did was give birth to him and try to reason with him for the first 7 or so years-
"Nelle stop what you're thinking. I already know you're probably thinking mad shit about Leah." Lexis whispered into my ear. He can't tell me to stop thinking shit about Leah. No one can hear it so I can think it; he needs to just butt out of my thoughts.
"Fine." I said with a small laugh. I caught the annoyed look that Leah had on her face. "She testing me Lexis." I whispered back to him.
"Ignore it Ma. She ain't even worth it." I nodded my head and crossed my legs as I sat there waiting for the ceremony to start.

"How do you feel knowing you just graduated from High School?" I asked as DeShawn came walking down from the stage to give me a hug. I felt tears welling in my eyes. These were tears of joy, DeShawn worked so hard in sports and school and now he'll be on his way to college. I'm going to miss him so much.
"Mom don't cry." He said as he wiped away a stray tear from my cheek. "But I feel hella great knowing I just graduated." He gave me a hug before wandering off to Leah. Nicole came walking down to us with the biggest smile on her face.
"Look at you Nicole. We all thought you'd be the drop out, with a child, and out with some crazed Gang member." Varo laughed as he pulled her in for a hug.
"Uncle Varo shut the hell up. I'm smart-"
"No you're not. You make Lauren look like a rocket scientist." Trey chimed in before giving Nicole a hug. "But congrats on graduating. I was actually hoping you were going to fall on the stage."
