Serena's POV
If you were just told your life was a lie how would you react? In my case, the world didn't come crashing down around me, it just disappeared like it never existed. Technically, it doesn't.
I'm freaking out right now and Nora comes over to me.
"I understand that it must be hard to come to terms right now," she says, "not all humans are easily adapted to change."
"STOP SAYING THINGS LIKE HUMANS ARE YOUR PROJECT, YOUR LAB RATS! OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING?" I moan.
"Calm down", Nora says, "Most things in the human world are based off of real things. Like animals, and regular things like coffee and books and trees and plants. But we also created some inventor humans and they made cars and trains and lamps and all of this weird technology."
I stare at her. "you have this immense system where you program billions of people's dreams to connect in an entire universe, but you don't know how to make a lamp?!"
Drea shakes her head
"And it's not that similar! What about magic?! What about all the spells and potions you were talking about? What about the power?"
"Magic is so complicated." Drea says, "It would be very hard for the Creators to add all of that confusion into the human world. It would just cause chaos. Plus spells and potions are the basics. We'll tell you about the darker stuff later."
"Well, what are you saying?", I ask, "Do you have vampires and werewolves and witches?"
"No", snorts Drea, "Those are all clichés that the human minds created. Each of our magical creatures has layers of power and depth, not just stereotypes. But we do have dragons!"
I groan
"And unicorns!'
