Mind Over Magic

Lo

Serena's POV

So I had just woken up from life to find a realm of magic. I had been recently informed that unicorns exist. Only good thing since being here.

"And another thing, " Nora says, "The people. Everyone you knew in the human world is chained up to this wall. They all dream in the same world. People grow on this wall. People die. Then we dispose of their dead bodies. They lived their entire life in a dream world. Never knowing reality."

I grimace. "Thanks for the dead body part, I really needed that on top of everything else I'm going through."

Nora looks at Drea. "Should we tell her?", she asks. Drea nods.

"What?! Tell me what?'

Nora takes a breath. "Ok what we're going to let you do us choose one person from the human world to awaken. They will be a partner on your mission. We think that a familiar face will help you get through all of this new information.

I am too excited to ask what mission they're talking about.

"Oh my god really?! Thank you!!" I gush

I knew exactly who I was going to choose.

My best friend back in NYC or back in my dream was Lo. Lo has brown hair with bangs, and tan skin and blue eyes. She's an artist who loves nature, and she's very honest. Like speaks her mind honest. I wonder how she'll react when she finds out her whole life was a lie. I suddenly feel bad for her. It was a tremendous shock when I found out. I don't want to scar her as well. Maybe I won't awaken anyone.

But then it hits me. If my life was all a dream and Lo were out here debating whether or not to tell me the truth, I'd want her to wake me up. She'd probably want to know the truth too. And she'd probably wonder where I went.

I turn to Nora. "I would like to awaken Lo Rose Evans." I say
