Lt. Harrison directed our family to the launching station. It's a very simple process. Because my family has chosen to transport molecularly, The whole procedure will take about five minutes. Basically, we stand underneath a radioactive tier, and we are broken into single atoms, and then the people who are controlling it can transport the atoms through space at the speed of light. Is there a risk of dying? Yes, but the first and last guy who died was the first to try the system, so we have no worries.
My mother went first, and I could simply feel all of the excitement within me. I couldn't wait to go to my new home. However, I never really had the opportunity to say goodbye to my friends on Earth. My best friend was a girl named Lizzie. Lizzie was always there for me regardless of the situation. One time, she even helped me argue my "B+" to an "A". I love Lizzie as if she were my sister; she has been through everything with me. I miss her, and I wish that I could see her again.
About three minutes after my mom had transported, I stepped onto the platform, and I gave a thumbs-up to denote that I was ready. Lt. Harrison bid me farewell, and, in an instant, I faced my new home: Mars. The planet was abuzz with people all about. After looking around for several moments, I noted my mom, and I walked over to her. She hugged me, and I beamed at this sizable new place to live. My father appeared a minute later, looking splendid in his dark blue trench coat. He took off his hat, and he showed us to the Assigner at the airport that we were in. Just to clarify, the Assigner is the person who distinguishes where one will live, eat, and simply do every day tasks. For example, my family was assigned to live on 562 Cosmos Road, eat at four distinct restaurants, shop for groceries at Shop #018, and I was to attend St. Milner High School.
Subsequently, my family and I were escorted to Cosmos Road, and we had to opportunity to meet our neighbors. They were all very pleasant (except for the Ritbin family), and I am ecstatic because I've already made several friends: Niya, Camila, and Brooklyn. How glad am I! At least that is how I felt before what happened next.
