Fate (Jinyoung X Nayeon)

April Story

Jinyoung was strumming his fingertips against the steering wheel as he couldn't help but to eavesdrop on the conservation besides him.

He could make out some of the sentences.

"Yeah, I'm in a car with a friend......oh! I didn't forget. I just didn't know when you are coming........Now??..... No it's just, I'm in my friend's car right now..... My car is at the school.....we're working Minhyuk....... No, we are surveying about all the things we need to do for the end year dinner.... Yeah, like a dinner planner..... Well...
Maybe I'll arrive about half an hour or so.....sorry....I'll reach there as soon as I can......hey sorry again......sorry.... Love you too."

Jinyoung felt his heart somehow sank hearing those last three words.

But then again. Who is he to feel that way?

"Bye." And her call ended.

Jinyoung acted normal like he wasn't even affected at all but he kept quiet, thinking what they had discussed before the phone call.

"Ummm... Jinyoung." She called warily.

He just hummed a response somehow already knowing what she wants.

"I think we should postpone this meeting with your friend. I need to pick up someone at the airport." Her voice seems in confident.

"You know.... We are actually one way to the airport also and already far from school to turn back. Would you mind I come along?" He asked having an idea to meet her boyfriend, face to face.

"Erk.... Hmm... Does it bother you?" She asks surprise with the idea.

"I live alone for your information." He informed.

"Means?"

He chuckled. "I don't have anyone to take care of, so i have a lot of time for myself."

Nayeon turned her head, looking confusedly at him. She still doesn't understand his main point.

"Ish this girl, It isn't a bother okay? Understand?" He had a grin on his lips.

Nayeon just pursued her lips doubting the idea. It would be better so Minhyuk wouldn't have to wait too long but the awkward part is that..... There is Jinyoung.

It doesn't mean she is still not comfortable with him. But she was worried what Minhyuk might feel and think seeing them together.

It was like having an outsider with your date.

But on the bright side, Minhyuk has to understand that they are together for work and it would be better to pick him up faster. He must be tired from the 8 hour long plane ride.

She will talk to him.

"So??" Jinyoung stop Nayeon train of thoughts.

"It looks fine." She faintly smiles.

"But then again because it is already going to be night time, I remembered you can't see well in the dark, right?" He suddenly asked.

Nayeon was surprised. "How did you even remember that?"

Jinyoung smirk, he was also surprised by his memory that he could remember that small detail for over 10 years.

"Truthfully. I don't even know myself." He confessed making eye contact for a second.

At the airport.

"I'll wait here." Jinyoung informed as he parked at the rear side of the main door.
